Not Loving the Social Networks

I did a post not long ago called “Loving Social Networks.”  Today, I’m not so in love.  Last night I was on FaceBook and saw a message from an old friend to pray for his brother.  I haven’t seen them in years but just recently reconnected via Facebook.  I asked him how was his brother.  He said fine and he’d be in town soon.  I remember riding our bikes, playing “it”, hide and seek and all that fun kiddy stuff.

So today after settling in, I log on and see this awful news.  My childhood friend, passed away.  That’s why I’m not loving the social networks.  Nothing personal Facebook.  It’s a love/ hate relationship.  Just wish I didn’t have to find out that way.  Looking back on all the childhood fun does put a smile on my face.
