It’s a new day, a new month & it’s a month to celebrate. February is Black History Month. We sometimes complain about it being the shortest month in the year. However I’m going to take this month and dedicate it to My Heritage.

I must first start with myself. Who am I as a Black Woman. I consider myself Black or African American. I don’t consider myself Negro or the “N” word.

I was raised by two strong Black women. My Mom & Grandma whom have been very instrumental in my life and me becoming the woman I am today. They are my role models and no super model nor any sports athlete can take the credit for what they have done. My husband and I raise our children to first look at those that have struggled to give them what they need to succeed in life. Hence the word “Role”.

So, I hope you delight in my journey during this month. As I reflect on those that have contributed to my life and the African American Community.

Also feel free to check out my hair blog.  I’m dedicating it to the Black Hair Care Industry this Month.
