….and my last drink was last year….

Hi my name is Nicole and I’m a Frappholic. My last drink was last year. I’m sure you’re thinking, that’s only a week ago! Hey! When you’ve been clean for 7 days that’s a big accomplishment. I’ve been addicted to Starbucks Frappuccino for about 2yrs.

Let me tell you.

This was the highlight of my day, how I would escape,if I was having a bad or stressful day.I’d drink  all my troubles away(hiccup).   I’m  sweating thinking about it.  It  had gotten to the point that every time I’d take a drink. I would think about how this could be harming my body.  It just  wasn’t as satisfying anymore.

The summer before last, my neighbor and I would go  walking  every morning. I lost about 15lbs. I gained that back and at the least, 20 more. Nope! I’m not on a diet. I think diet is a Bad Bad word lol. I do believe in lifestyle change. So, what I’ve started doing was making myself smoothies at home. This will help soothe my crave. Not only that, they are really good. I’ve also been a good girl by not using sugar. Instead I’m using Agave Nectar. It’s from the health food store(smiling- aren’t you proud of me?) IMG_2201

If you were in my support group? How would you introduce yourself? I’ll go first…

Small Fry

Ohhhhh!  Portillos has the best French Fries.  Portillos is a restaurant here in Chicago.  They have quite a few locations & the BOMB on the fries.  Hubby and I are car pooling until my car is out of the shop.  So, today we stopped at Portillos to get me an Italian Beef dipped, cheese, pickelspickles, peppers & Milk Shake (no fries).  My Hubby brought a Cheeseburger, fry & Milkshake.

After getting the food my husband told me to hand him some fries.  He was so hungry he couldn’t wait to get home.  While I was holding the bag I was helping my self.  I said, “They’ve got some good fries!  They’re always hot!”  He said, “Why you think I’m eating now?”(Yeah RIGHT!)  Then he says, “Don’t mix my fries with yours!”  I said, “What fries!”  He said, “You didn’t get no fries?!”  “NOPE!”(me)  He said, “You SUCKA!” lol

My Christmas Whisperer

th_aristocats2

One thing I love so much about children.  There ability to tell something when under pressure.  Or NOT!  Last year my hubby brought me a watch for Christmas.  He took secret agent James, with him( not a great idea).  When hubby was away, the mouse told it ALL!lol  He said, “Daddy brought you a watch (squeak, squeak).”

A watch was on my list but I had saw this real cute one at JCPenney.  It was waterproof, had a little bling & all the other girly stuff.  So me being the crafty woman that I am.  Had a little plan.  Me & hubby was in the bed & I happen to have the JCPenney catalog with me(how convenient).  Showed it to my husband and said, “see I’d like something like this.”  He looked at me in disgust and said, “He told you?  That little tattletale!”

The next day we were setting at the table eating dinner.  My daughter and I kept talking about watches.  Trying to make my son a little uncomfortable (we were cracking up).  Then my son says to my husband, “I think their on to us?”  My husband looks at him and shakes his head.

I confess I’ve never been one good at not taking a peek at my Christmas gifts but this one he saved me a sneak peek.  I gotta love him for that.

It’s a New Monday & I’m Headed in the Right Direction

Where You Headed?

Woo! Wee! The first Monday of 2010! I’m excited about this year & hope you feel the same.

I’m dedicating this post to a New Beginning. No Lofty goals, No promises to be broken, just redirecting & refocusing some areas of my life. They truly need redirection.(seriously)

Spiritual, Personal & Business all can use a little help. I did make a list that I will check from time to time( making sure I’m on track). Most importantly…..is the commitment, I need to make to myself.

We’re not perfect….will never be! Making sure we’re living our life to Gods plan is going in the right direction. Making a commitment to His plan is going in the right direction. With that being said, I think I’m on my way in the right direction.

What direction are you headed in? Are you moving in the Right direction? Feel free to share. I get so excited to see others moving in the right direction!

Headed in the Right Direction
