“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Is something I’ve heard growing up. I’ve actually said it many times. Much to my amazement it rings true to the ears of many.
Having children, this is often said if, a child isn’t doing good. Getting into trouble, bad grades, hanging with the wrong crowd or just outright rebellious! Most of the time the child doesn’t know that, he or she didn’t fall far from the tree. They’re just lead to believe that they have a problem, that their parent never had. Come on now! We know we don’t tell our kids our little secretssssssssss. Do you? It takes some relative to look at you out the corner of their eye, when you’re telling them you’re having problems with your teenager. They’re looking at you like that because they remember when you were a teenager. Grrrrrr
Let me get to the root of the matter. I’m about to do a comparison. Me as a teen vs. my teen daughter.
Now who says, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?”

@Adoption Of Jane, What a relief.
your tree still looks better than mine. glad our kids have the same good apples!
@liz, Wow… So far bell pepper, lettuce, beans, greens, cucumbers. So far and he’snot done.
Hey Nicole! Sounds like it’s a good thing your apple fell far from the tree.
Thanks for the visit and follow; I’m now following you back.
What did your husband plant in the garden?

Too funny! ;0) It can be hard when it’s the reverse too … my daughter struggles in school and is definitely Type B. While I’m Type A and always did well academically. But I’m learning to appreciate our differences and “lighten up” (she is hilarious). And I’m also learning to be less naive (she can be very sneaky!)
Thanks for stopping by my blog this week … I’m so glad you were encouraged. We moms have to do that for each other. Parenting is HARD!
I love how you showed the differences between you and your daughter. I can’t wait to see how my babies grow up!
@Elisa @ Globetrotting in Heels, Elisa, that is definitely true.

Oh, thank God our children are their own people. Though it is possible to inherit certain personality traits, I don’t believe it’s necessarily a given.

Thanks Ladies. @MOTPG I’m the same way. Isn’t that the advantage of once being a teen.@ Sara he’ll be just fine you and your husband are giving him a good foundation.
I am so happy for you! Your daughter sounds like a blessing! I am hoping Cole isn’t like me in highscool, or were looking at 4 very long years!
Have a great day!
You are doing a good job! And yes, my kids still don’t know why I always know if they’re up to something. It’s because my memory is still very clear!
