I like unfussy themes, with just a couple of nice details but not too much going on. Akismet is a great spam filter, so it’s probably my fave plugin. Second and third place would have to go to LinkWithin, which recommends posts the reader might like, and Sexy Bookmarks, which allows your blog visitors to quickly and easily share your posts on Twitter, StumbleUpon, Facebook, FriendFeed… you can actually choose from about 30 platforms to share it on!

I’m on WP, but I have a theme that you have to purchase. And I have no knowledge of the various free options. The one I bought is called Thesis, and it’s recommended for its great SEO and it’s very customizable.
I use blogger and as you can tell, I’m not very technical, which it why it rarely changes. Most everything you said was WAY over my head.

I use blogger. I tried wordpress briefly and wanted to customize a template. I spent hours upon hours trying to get things right and I was just in over my head. That was about a year ago and I haven’t tried since. I would love to make the switch some day, when I have to money to invest in some help.
For now, I don’t have all that much time to devote to blogging so I’ll stick to the ease of blogger for a while longer. When I can dedicate more time and effort, I hope to dig in and learn a lot more.
