This song was one of my favorite slow jams when I first met my husband. It’s way older than me but this was how he hooked me lol. The next song is also one of my favorites. Alicia talks about the struggle of relationships. Just so happen she uses the music from Eddie Kendricks Intimate Friends (the first song)

This reminds me of the time I was driving my kid brother somewhere and a DeBarge song cam on the radio and he starts in on how “that singer” stole the beat from Biggie Smalls. I was like uh, no baby bro it’s the other way around. its’ called sampling and all your favorite artists do it. They need to teach music history in school. Sheesh.

The Kendricks is great and Alicia Keyes always is too. I noticed a lot of artists in different music genres are reaching back to reintroduce good stuff.
