Today the kids were playing hide and seek in the house and this story came to mind. This is a repost from when I first began blogging in 2009.
Ready or Not!!!!
My husband asked me what did I think about our son walking to school with a neighbor? Nope! I don’t trust him as far as I can see him. Now before you jump to conclusions let me explain. When we tell him to go take out the garbage. In between him going to the kitchen and the garbage can, he’ll get distracted by an apple laying on the island. See where I’m going?
Let me give you another example. A few years ago we were all playing hide and seek in the house. It was James turn to find us. We ran and hid. 1,2,3,4……..ready or not!!!!!!!! So, now we’re hiding and 1 minute goes by then, 2, 3, 4….5, 6. We all begin to emerge from our hiding spot and James is no where in sight. Now, we’re looking for James. Walk up stairs and this child is watching t.v. When we asked, “what happened?” He forgot that we were playing a game.
When I reminded my husband of the story all he could do was laugh. So, ready or not, he will get dropped off at school.

Your story’s so cute and it makes your case. My daughter’s been asking to walk to school, but I’m not ready yet.
