18 years ago today my life changed. I experienced the most excruciating pain EVA!!!LOL. I remember my mother & grandma saying, “this is when you can tell the difference between the ladies & the girls”. There was no shame in my game, I declared girlhood from the mountain top!!! “Make this pain go away NOW!” Being a girl is painless 
With all jokes aside, 18 yrs ago God gave me a precious gift. I went in labor on the 4th while at my aunts house for a barbecue. It was hot that day too, but I don’t think it was 100 degrees.
Later that night I beeped (oh gosh that sounds ancient) her dad and he took me to the hospital. This child came the next day at 4:56p.m.
Last night we were talking to her on Skype. They’re an hour earlier than us so, it was 12:00 a.m. there and we were able to wish her Happy Birthday early. I said, “you turned 18 an hour earlier because of time zone.”She was exhausted. We saw it all in her face. They’ve been keeping them busy with pickup games, class & today she starts work. Yeah!!! She will start her first job today. Thankfully its on campus.
After we finished talking to her last night my husband asked did I think she was homesad (that’s what my youngest calls it)?
Husband:Do you think she’s homesick?
Me:She said she wasn’t. She thinks she’s at an AAU tournament. LOL
