Marriage & The Family: Date Night at the iPic Theaters to see Sparkle

image

Last night Hubby and I had a chance to escape and enjoy some quality time together. We went to check out the movie Sparkle at the iPic Theaters in Bolingbrook Illinois. Hubby registered online before we went and you can also purchase your tickets online too. He purchased the premium tickets so we could enjoy the full experience of the show. Premium tickets came with a blanket, pillow, a server, popcorn at your seat and selected seating area of your choice.

It was a wonderful atmosphere and I was so surprised that very few people were there. My only negative comment would be that it was colder than winter in Chicago inside the theater. My husband gave me his blanket, his socks and his jacket. Instead of ordering another cold drink, I ordered coffee. It was that cold. The next time we go I will definitely be prepared.

The recliner seats in the theater were extremely comfortable! If it wasn’t for the coffee and the fact I did want to see the movie, I would have been like the man sitting near us snoring.

Lounge area. Sorry, my camera sucks when lighting is low. Hubby and I ordered some buffalo spring rolls and sat in the lounge area and ate before the movie started.

Pool area for pool players. I have no clue! So, you won’t see me in that section and I’m surprised my husband didn’t beg to teach me to play.

If you sat at the bars in the center of the room you wouldn’t have missed a thing on tv because there were TVs inside of them.

I ordered the usual before the movie…a Strawberry Daiquiri (virgin) and hubby tried a Majito. Since we don’t drink he didn’t like the Majito and I wasn’t fond of it either. I’ll stick to my cold, slushy girly drinks.

We had a wonderful time and this is where we’ll be going for now on when we go on a movie date. You better believe I’m going to be dressed for the frigid cold the next time we go.

Have you ever been to a theater that you thought was unique or worth the visit?

  2. If the movie was bad, yes, I might fall asleep too :) . That’s such a comfy theater. Too cold, though. Yes, next time, come prepared.

  3. I love the ICONN. I think there’s one in Chicago. It has a lounge and really nice VIP theaters with seating that sounds like what you were in. It’s in a classy type of area so it’s fun just hanging out around there.

  4. I’ve never even heard of a theater like this! I haven’t been to a movie, since Ghost. If hubby went to something that cushy, he’d be snoring like a freight train. You can’t get him too comfortable, or that will happen every time!
