This is such a difficult and complicated issue Nicole. You make some good points. I have been shooting since I was ten and had my marksmans certification by the time I was 12. I was taught gun safety and more so-gun danger-from day one. My husband and I each own a handgun. This is because the feel and comfort using a type of gun can be different for different people. I own two 22 caliber rifles because that is what I target shoot. One is a very old single shot I learned on, the other a newer multishot model. The purpose of this is to save time when reloading. (I prefer the old one) We also have a shotgun. I feel very strongly about the right to bear arms for various reasons. At the same time it is difficult to justify the use of assault weapons by private citizens. I think being watchful for mental health issues is deeply important.
