Rice Cooker Recipe #1: Flavored Infused

If, I had a dime for every time I’ve messed up rice, I could hire a personal chef.  For my bridal shower my sister-in-law gave me a rice cooker and 14 years later I’ve started using it.  There’s another thing with me and rice.  I grew up eating my rice with butter, sugar and what we called pet milk (evaporated milk).  To this day that’s my favorite way to eat rice.  I also eat my grits and oatmeal that way.

Anywho, since I began using my rice cooker, I started trying different recipe combinations, infusing it with herbs, flavors, veggies etc.

Ingredients
2 Cups of Rice
2 1/2 Cups Chicken Broth
1 Clove of Garlic
10-12 Chopped Baby Carrots
1-2 Tsp of Cilantro (I rarely measure herbs, sorry)

  1. No it’s not like a slow cooker. It cooks in a timely manner. I will compare it in the sense you can walk away from it with no worries, but it cuts off when the rice is done.

  3. Is a rice cooker similar to a slow cooker? I’ve never used one before, but I love my slow cooker. In fact I have dinner going in it right now. This looks like a great recipe!

  4. I have the same issues of needing to know how to make rice. I am going to try roasting my garlic and see what that tastes like. Thanks for the recipe.
