When I was growing up I had to wash dishes by hand.

If it predates the great depression….Any household appliance that has been the subject of a predated great depression story…I need it in my life.   For example… my grandmother telling me the story of not having a refrigerator when she was growing up.  I dont want to be without a refrigerator.   Or…now this one I can relate to, having to wash dishes by hand.  The agony… the pain! Ugh!  Which is the subject of this post.   That darn dishwasher of mine that always seems to not work after it’s been completely loaded -____-.  Can I get a warning sign before I begin to load it.  Like an alarm ringing with an animated voice screaming loudly, LOAD AT YOUR OWN RISK BECAUSE I AIN’T WASHING DISHES TODAY! !!!

Can I get an Amen?

Dont get me wrong.   I have no problem washing dishes by hand, but the thought of removing every freaking dish after I’ve been greatly disappointed by my old dishwasher.   I don’t think so.  I don’t think so.  Give me a moment while I let this soak in.

What house appliance do you absolutely dread breaking in the mist of preparing to use it?  Anything that plugs up I dread breaking! Anything!  Guess I am a part of the microwave generation.

  1. I don’t know what I would do without a washing machine…after flu season last year and the amount of laundry I had to do, I have a much greater respect for mothers before washing machines!

  2. I don’t care much for dishwashers, I do mine the old fashioned way. However, my coffee pot… I can’t live without.
