One of the many categories I enjoy browsing on Pinterest, is tablescapes. They’re absolutely gorgeous and amazingly creative. Funny thing when I began trying my hand at tablescapes, I didn’t have a large variety of plates to make something as amazing. After thrifting for some time now my collection has grown which has given me a few options. This has truly made playing with dishes fun. My husband went thrifting a few weeks ago and found some gorgeous plates. Watch the video here to see all of the goodies he scored. He asked me when I was going to use them and I said in the Spring. His response was a response of shock and why wait so long. Well, to let him know his hard work wasn’t in vain I used them in this tablescape . tablescape-hubby-thrift-finds-pic 2[1] Let’s begin with my centerpiece. The burlap runner is from Target’s Dollar Spot. Layered on top is a fall wreath I picked up from Aldi this season and in the middle I placed a vintage amber compote dish filled with gold artificial pears. tablescape-hubby-thrift-finds-3[2] I always create a setting of 6 although it’s originally 5 in our family and 4 with my oldest away at school. When thrifting for dishes oftentimes you won’t find all the matches needed to create an entire set. When you do, you’ve hit the jackpot and when you don’t, you mix and match and get creative. Two of my settings were exactly the same and the other four matched creating this mix matched tablescape. Here’s the setting that I created two of. Picked up these lovely chargers from Kirkland’s Here’s where my hubby’s great finds come in. The large yellow plate, followed by a white, burnt orange and mint green plate. Lastly topped off with a white bowl and napkins holding the silverware. tablescape-hubby-thrift-finds-4[3] tablescape hubby thrift finds 5[4] Next, the four place settings. Here I’m using a fall charger, large mint green plate (from huubby’s haul), white plate with a basket weave trim. The coordinating mint green saucer that matches the large green plate, white bowl and the same napkin with ring and utensils inside. tablescape-hubby-thrift-finds-6[5] Lastly, the drinkware. I added six glass amber tumblers, 2 vintage goblets and 4 small vintage dessert glasses. Playing with dishes is always fun. My next tablescape will be for Thanksgiving. I can’t wait. Have a great weekend and stay warm.
