It’s a new gardening season

We had the most beautiful weather this past weekend and the week has been gorgeous too. While I was away visiting grandma’s house Sunday, hubby was putting in the work in the garden.

Couple weeks ago we mapped out our gardening plans and made preparations.  Planted some seeds indoors in a small greenhouse we purchased to help give us a headstart.

Got our tomatoes planted and hubby color coded the support cages to distinguish the different varieties. This year we “ONLY” planted 8 tomato plants.  Unlike last year we went overboard and planted 12.

The seedlings we planted are in the ground and we also have all the hoops up and some of the plastic that covers the hoops.  For those days and nights the temp drops we cover the beds up to keep them safe.  Living in the Chicagoland area we’re  known for experiencing 4 seasons within 15 minutes.

Have you began your gardening season yet and is the weather  cooperating in your area?
