Loving Social Networks

This Social Networking thing is Hot!  No seriously.  It’s so amazing  how, people you haven’t seen since highschool, you find them and they find you.  Some people who weren’t your friends become your friends.

I’ve even found myself looking for people that I really don’t want to see.  Just to see.  I think that’s the nosey part of me.  When you can’t find somebody you wonder what rock are they living under?

Isn’t it cool when someone asks to be your friend.  You know?  When you first signed up you were doing all the asking?  So, that’s why I think this Social Networking thing is really Hot.  Tell me what you think about it.

Gifted Hands

HandsEvery Sunday we try to watch a family movie. My husband made the movie choice for today and he gets 8 thumbs up. The movie was “Gifted Hands”. It’s about Ben Carson,African American doctor who overcame many obstacles to succeed. Family, racial and peer pressure where some of the forces that came against him daily.

My husband and I nudged each other throughout the movie. That’s because it reminded us of what we’re going through with our only son. Our son James started off his first grade year in the gifted program. Due to his ability to stay focused he was later placed in a regular first grade class. He has great potential, yet he’s the child we have to follow closely. Once we drop the ball, he makes a run for it.

If your dealing with anything similar to this? It’s a must see for you and your family. Now we have to find one for our 15 year old daughter. Hum? That’ll be our task for next week.

What stumps, rolls, scream..

What stumps, rolls, screams, stares you down & laugh in the same breath? Did you guess? My 23 month old daughter. Ughrrrrrrr! Terrible and not two, yet. Last week she started falling out in the floor, kicking and screaming. I politely stepped over her and went in the kitchen too cook. When she noticed I didn’t give her an audience, she ran in the kitchen asking “What cha doing?” My oldest daughter calls it baby bipolar. I call it; terrible and not two, yet.

She also does this stumping and spninning around in circles like a tazmanian angel. I call it; terrible and not two, yet. How about when we do the stare down. She has the nerve to look serious and bat her eyes at the same time. Like she’s cute. Naw, I call it; terrible and not two, yet!!!

After stumping, spinning, rolling and staring each other down. You’ll hear an outburst of laughter. She’ll say, “I funny? I funny?” Naw, you terrible and not two, yet.

Labor Day (no pun in ten did)

Destination Maternity CorporationWooHoo! A three day weekend is always something to celebrate. Not only am I celebrating Labor Day but tomorrow is my Birthday too. If I were born tomorrow it would surely be Labor Day (no pun in ten ded).
My birthday was the holiday landmark that reminded me that school was starting soon.

This year I can’t help but think about all the unemployed Americans that aren’t celebrating. So, not only am I thankful for seeing another birthday, I’m thankful that my husband and I are both employed. So in actuality this Labor Day sound more like and oxymoron to most Americans. Huh, go figure.
