Monday Mama Inspiration: Anxious?

It’s MonYAY!Hope you’re excited to begin this new week. However, I know that many of us can often experience anxiety in our lives and for some Mondays aren’t, MonYAY.Life’s trials, struggles and disappointments can be sure to leave us a bit anxious.

I’m always thankful for God’s word and this past month I’ve been experiencing some anxiety.Which led me to really lean in on God’s word and meditate on His promises. If I hadn’t, I would be a nervous wreck.Tore up from the floor up not knowing which way to go and definitely not easy to live with.Spending time in His word and in prayer restores my soul and helps me to focus on my Savior and not my problems.

In the book of Matthew it says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. When reading this I realized how my priorities were out of whack and I had to get them straight. My top priority is to seek God’s kingdom. Not mine, not the world’s or anyone else’s.My first concern is to Seek God’s kingdom, His rulership, sovereignty and authority and to seek His righteousness. His way of doing things, not my own.My waY is SCARY 🙁

I Hope that as you begin your week, you make seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness your top priority. That’s what kingdom women do.

Hymnal Art/Hymnal Journaling

I’m sure I’m not the only one that remembers singing hymns growing up.Back then I had no appreciation nor understanding of what I was singing. However, as your relationship with the Lord grows and He brings you or of trials and test, your appreciation grows for those things you didn’t understand.

Today, I’m sharing how I use an old church hymnal to do hymnal art/hymnal journal in.I’m also sharing with a treasured hymnal I have from my grandmother’s church.I remember using one of these same hymnals when I would go to church with her.Check out the video below to see how I use it and why I enjoy doing hymnal art

Beaded Bookmark Tutorial Using Pantone Color of the Year

Who doesn’t love a cute bookmark and who doesn’t love some beautiful jewelry? Let’s combine the two and you have a Beaded Bookmark.Today I’ll be showing you how to create this beautiful beaded bookmark using the Pantone color of the year, green.

If you’ve seen my tutorial on how to Create Your Own Valentine Jewelry Set, many of the tools and supplies I used for that, we’ll use to create this Beaded Bookmark.

Tools

Beads of choice

Jewelry Wire

Seed Beads

Crimp Beads

Jewelry Crimper (Optional because you can use jewelry pliers as well)

Jewelry Pliers

First thing you want to do is pick out some green beads or color of choice.

Here are the beads I’m using for this project and I’m so happy I had these colors on hand.If you’re not a green kinda gal, choose the colors of your choice.I have a few green clothing items in my closet, but believe me it’s definitely only a few items and I’m sure many of us don’t grab the green item before colors like, black, pink etc.Let me know if green is your favorite color?

The next thing you’ll need is some beading wire.I’m using this silver beading wire and love the size because it allows the bookmark and any other jewelry you create with it to have some flexibility.

Next, you’ll need to get the book you’re creating this bookmark for.I’m creating this one for my journal bible, but I’ll also be able to use this bookmark in many other books too.Lay the wire inside your book to measure the length you’d like the bookmark.

After you’ve measured the desired length of your wire you can either preplan the layout of your beads or freestyle it.But before we begin loading the beads we’re going to use a crimp bead and create a closure at the bottom of the bookmark. This closure hangs out the bottom of your book and helps keep the bookmark in place.

Now, load up the beads beginning with the seed beads.Adding the seed beads may be the most tedious part of this project and they will be majority of the beadwork because you want them to lay neatly in the fold of your book.

After you’ve added all of the seed beads you’re going to get as creative as you’d like to add a creative flair to the end of your bookmark. This is the part of the bookmark that will hang from the top of your book and seen by all.So, make sure it’s CAUUUTE!

Lastly, added the same technique that we added at the bottom of the bookmark with the hoop closure and it’s done.Do you have a book in mind to create a bookmark for?If you get a chance to create this bookmark be sure to share it with me on Instagram I’d love to see it. Use the hashtag #HelpMamaRemote

What’s in my Prayer/War Binder & Tips to Strengthen Your Prayer Life

Why A Prayer Binder?

A few years back I began creating a prayer binder for myself.I wanted to create a resource to keep track of specific things I was praying for, documenting answered prayers and a tool to run to in crisis situations. One thing I’ve learned while creating my prayer binder is that it takes time. This process doesn’t happen overnight and it’s a journey.A course that we learn to embrace as we commune with the Father and grow in His word.

If you would like to create a prayer binder, you can do it for zero bucks because I’m sure you already have these items on hand.If you don’t have tools on hand trust me, it won’t cost much.

Tools You’ll Need

1. Binder-if you don’t have a binder on hand you can find one at the dollar store or anywhere you purchase school supply. My first prayer binder was a binder I repurposed from when I was a decorating consultant.I used some craft paper and decoupage to jazz it up a bit and currently use this binder for my Moms In Prayer binder.Ladies we’re creative and we should use our creativity in all things. So, be creative when it comes to making your binder.
2. Paper and Tabs– I suggest you section off your binder into different categories.Such as, family, marriage, children, church, business, community etc. This method works well for me, because who or whatever I’m focusing on in prayer, I can go to that section without any hassle.
3.Bible-Read the word of God so you can search for scriptures to apply to your prayers and be sure to not take scriptures out of context.

4.Set aside a consistent prayer time -Spending quality time with the Father to worship, pray and read His word.I love to get up early in the morning before everyone wakes up.I take my shower, get dressed and head downstairs to get my coffee before I go pray.Set a schedule that works well for you and be consistent.Being in the presence of God is wonderful and I look forward to spending that quality time with Him every morning.

5.Be honest- about what’s going on. One of the reasons it’s so important to read God’s word, it helps us learn more about Him.When we know Him we know what He hates and what He loves and we’re to hate what He hates (Psalm 97:10). We also learn the difference between sin and temptation and we’re able to address these things in our lives when they arise.

Do you have a prayer binder and if so, how has it benefited your prayer life? You can also watch the video below to get more details on my prayer binder.I’m also linking up today with Wise Woman Link up. Head over there and check out post from some wise women.
