My Scripture for 2017

It’s that time again. Another new year has graced us with it’s presence and I’m sure many of us are thankful to make it to 2017. It’s either I’m officially OLD or just realizing how time really does fly. One minute it was January then October and now January 2017. Whew!

Toady I’m sharing with you the scripture that I’ll focus on this year, and how did last year’s ‘scripture focus’ go.

Hearing His Voice Leads Us

In order to know His voice I had to dedicate myself to time in His word and prayer. Of course this took much commitment which led to many victories as well as short comings.

I’ll begin with last year…last year I shared my last journal entry for 2015  in my journaling bible. That entry was from the scripture I used for my focus scripture in 2016. That scripture was John 10:27, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

In order to know His voice I had to dedicate myself to time in His word and prayer. Of course this took much commitment which led to many victories and exposing my short comings. I’m truly thankful for them both. I saw how the Lord showed Himself strong in my weaknesses and frailties. Those victories, led me to many blessings in my spiritual growth because the were used for His glory.

One of those things that I saw the Lord show Himself strong, was in my struggle with my children. The Lord led me to a Moms In Prayer group that has given me the support I need so, I wouldn’t feel alone when praying for my children. Having other moms agreeing with you and you agreeing with them in prayer according to the word of God, shows the beauty in the Body of Christ. This clearly demonstrates how we’re to bare each others burdens as well as comforts and encourages us to stand on God’s word for these precious gifts He’s given to us.

I’ll GO

I’m excited to see what 2017 brings as I continue to focus on hearing His voice by studying His word and seeking His face.

With the these blessings I’ve received in the form of comfort, encouragement and learning to persevere, I’m excited to see what 2017 brings as I continue to focus on hearing His voice by studying His word and seeking His face.

My scripture for this year is found in Matthew 28: 18-20, And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This year I believe the Lord is calling me to start a prayer group to help further the mission of Moms in Prayer.Of course this brings much excitement and much concern. As I begin 2017 I’m leaning and trusting that God will use me to bring other moms to Him as we pray for the souls and lives of our children.

How was 2016 for you and what are you excited about in this new year?

Bible Journaling : And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword

Bible Journaling

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations…

image

11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS

Scripture of the Week : Ephesians 1:5

The past few weeks I have been taking part in an Ephesians Challenge.  This challenge is hosted by a dear sister in Christ of the Perisisters In Christ Community.  Now, this challenge is pushing your girl’s brain to a new level.  It consist of memorizing the ENTIRE BOOK OF EPHESIANS!  What?!  Yes, the entire book.  I’ve been doing my verse of the week meditation, but honestly, no memorization.  I can hollar out a few scriptures when I’m in need, but I can’t tell you where it is exactly.

So, what I’ve been doing is memorizing one scripture per week and as I add on a scripture, I continually refresh on them all.   Another thing I’ve been doing is, incorporating the scriptures into my planner.

So when I create my weekly stickers they are all from the scriptures I’m memorizing.

Also, I use index cards in my little binder and soon I will get a new binder to separate the Ephesians Challenge from my other scriptures that I currently have in this binder.

This week’s scripture is Ephesians 1:5

Eph 1 5 blog

If I didn’t say it before, I’m saying it now!  The book of Ephesians is blessing me.  Meditating on and memorizing the first five scriptures has fed my spirit something plentiful.  When I’m at my lowest and life circumstances has gripped me around my neck, I know, God foreordained my adoption to himself.  Understanding that he has taking care of all of my needs… before they were ever a need.

Feel free to join me in this challenge and I’m sure your heart will be blessed.
