The Season Finale

What’s a season without ending it with eye bucking mouth dropping drama, leaving you in suspense and drawing you back for more next season.

Recap of 2010

We started Season 1 off first, defining Dummy. Didn’t want to offend anyone. The very first book went to my beloved daughter who, couldn’t seem to get her room clean during Spring Break. As the season would unfold, my only son, middle child, desperately needed a book to learn how to “Not act like a Dummie!!!!” Evidently, he didn’t read the book because at the end of the school year he had to attend summer school. As brilliant as I am, I needed a book as well but I’m going to let you find out which book I needed to read.

Season after season we had some strange things going on in our humble abode. Take a look at all 8 Seasons here.

As we wrap up the year, I’d like to share with you The Season Finale. Not to mention, although we’ve been informed with the multiple Dummy books. I don’t think we’re reading them. The madness seems to continue.

Whip My Hair Back and Forth For Dummies

I can use in my life at this present time……… The past few months I’ve been allowing my hair to grow out. For over 8 years I’ve worn a short hair cut, if I were a boy short. I’m content, satisfied and secure. As I’ve said before I don’t like messing around with my hair so it makes life easier for me. However allowing it to grow out means I have to comb it, braid it or do something to it! UGH!!!! Annoying. Today I’ve decided to have it cut off. I’m thrilled! So, I will whip my hair back and forth even when it’s short! HA! Stay tuned for 2011 because the madness will never cease!

For Dummies Season 8

Don’t Pull a Tonya Harding For Dummies!

This past Saturday my son had his Flag Football game. But… maybe I should rewind to the week before….. The week before during his game, I noticed two boys that continuously tried to tackle him during the “flag football” game. Now, you see I said “flag football”. So there should not have been any tackling!

As I noticed this happening during every play… I began to get a bit upset & scream to the Ref, “Hey! Do you see them!?” I don’t think they heard me. So, after the game I approached the Ref, spoke to my sons coach & also spoke to the person over the program. Of course they said they’ll keep a look out. Whatever, I’m going to keep a look out. How about that?!

Which brings us to this past week. One of the young guys wasn’t there that tackled my son the previous week however, the other kid was there. The game began and my son was a BEAST!!!!!( meaning he played good) He had to have taken at the least 10 flags (sticking my chest out) in his first game. But…again…I noticed this one boy. This time he didn’t tackle him but he would snatch his flag or pull another little stunt. My son isn’t the Quarter back! He doesn’t have the ball! There is no reason for anybody to snatch his flag. Also, during the game this same boy punched my son in the stomach! GRRRRR!! I intentionally sat at the top bleacher in case I had to come down and act a FOOL see what was going on, I would have time to calm down first.

During the second game it started to rain so, all the parents were under the field house in order to stay dry. I looked over next to me & who was standing there? The coach from the previous game. Muhahaha He was watching my son’s team play their second again since they got their BUTTS whipped. After my son took the first flag, he said, “I have to watch this game!” Some time went by…my son took another flag. He said, ” they have to stop number 99! He the biggest one out there!” ………………………….

Me: “Without punching him in the stomach & tackling him!”

Him:(looks surprised) “Yeah, we’re working on that.”

Me: “If, you’re going to teach them how to play “flag football” teach them the right way! Otherwise my son will need protective give if they’re going to play tackle!”

Him: “The kids get excited & they want to play. They all do that”

Me: thinking to myself…BULL!

I think the coach told those boys to stop my son because he’s bigger than the other kids. Not telling them the proper way but making sure they don’t loose the game. I have my eye on them & next week they better not try to pull another Tonya Harding on my son again! I’m just saying!

For Dummies Season 7

Life is back as we know it here in our home. Kids are back in school! YEEESSSSS! Things are flowing as planned. Also, For Dummies Season 7 has been released. To view previous Seasons click here

My daughter is now in her Junior year of High school. This past summer she was busy traveling from State to State with her AAU Basketball Team. 10 States minimum and with that came a lot of working out. Not to mention she also was very busy during her school year as well. With all this practice came some weight loss! WOOHOO!!!!! This is very exciting for us because the past 11 years she has struggled with obesity/overweight issues. She loss 20lbs weighing her in at 181lbs. Last year when she had her athletic physical she weighed 191lbs. Just by looking at her you would assume that she’s loss at least 40lbs but that’s because she also grew taller, 6’1 1/2 is now her actual height. Which is another big deal here in our family because she has passed my father in height. Just imagine her rubbing that in his nose.

Any-who! On her first day of school kids were amazed at her weight loss. Some claim that they didn’t know who she was. After talking with her tonight, she says her weight loss was the topic in class. The KICKER leads to our FOR DUMMIES BOOK! One student grabbed her arm in the hall and said, “What happened to you? Are you SICK?” BRRRRRRRR!!! WRONG ANSWER!!!!!!!! Kids can be so cruel & so can some adults. Learning how to ask someone something you want to know about them……. or not asking AT ALL!!!!! Are essential SOCIAL SKILLS we should have all learned at the age of 3!

It’s so important to teach our children to be careful what they say to people. In doing so, it will build important social qualities when they become adults. Adults can say some of the dumbest things too! Maybe someone did lose weight but should we say:

“Are you starving yourself?”
“Did you have that surgery?”
“WOW!!!!You look so much better because you were FAT!”

BRRRRRRRRR!!!!WRONG ANSWER!

NO!!!!

How about this…

“Wow! You sure look nice!”

Maybe leaving it at that. Unless we may want info for our own journey in weight loss.

Maybe you’ve been on the receiving end of some one’s outrageous comments. What comment have you heard that has disturbed you? Or maybe you may have said something and didn’t realize what you said until after it was said?

For Dummies Season 6

Welcome back to “For Dummies”! This is Season 6 and if you’ve missed any of the others click here.

If you read my post yesterday on us working on our bedroom closets organization…this book is dedicated to my Prince Charming, My Night and Shining Armour, My main Man! He started working on installing the closet organizer this morning. He had to leave for a couple hours to go to work. When came back home he worked on it some more….we ate dinner…..he went out with my son to mow the lawn……and…and……

It’s still not finished.

Today I had to confiscate my daughters electronics in order for her to clean her room properly and in a timely manner. She did a pretty good job however, the closet still needs a little work. She forgot to read her book that she was given during Spring Break.
