Help Mama Get Fit: Workout week update

Last week’s workout goals were a success!  I went to the fitness center 3 days and accomplished a 30 minute workout each day.  It was straight to the point with no time to play.

This week will be a little different because of the holiday.  More than likely I’ll have to go 2 days in a row due to the fitness center being closed on Monday.

That was my workout week. Quick and to the point. Hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day!

Back to my Workout Routine

This week I’ll be back at my workout routine. Up and at it, but I may only get to fit in 30 minute workouts.  I’ll see how that goes with making sure I get the kids a good breakfast and off to school.

It’s so funny because my son has made it known that he wants bacon for breakfast.

Wednesday: turkey bacon, eggs & waffles

Thursday: turkey bacon and eggs

Friday: oatmeal

Son: (on Friday) WHERE’S THE BACON?!  You’re going down by the day!

The nerve of him! LOL So, you see the urgency of making sure certain people get a good breakfast in the morning. LOL

Let’s see how I’m able to work this out punintendid.  Do you have any must haves that you want or enjoy doing before the kids get off to school?  How do you make time for it?

I’d like to try a boot camp, when it’s not 2,013 degrees….

That just sounds good. Seriously, in the near future I’d like to build myself up to attend a Saturday workout boot camp, when it’s not hot and the trainer won’t work me into a pool of sweat. Really.

My apprehensions of attending boot camp is simple. I workout on machines. There’s an absolute difference that I’ve noticed with the comparison of working out on a machine and using your bodyweight and strength, when working out.

Maybe…

I’ll take that back… I believe that’s one of the reasons those 10 pounds love hanging around me. 😉

Back to this boot camp thing. We all have those things, milestones and/or accomplishments that give us the feeling of arrival. The ‘I made it through’ feeling. Well, attending a boot camp is one of my fitness goals, but like I said, “I REFUSE TO DO IT WHILE IT’S 2,013 degrees outside!”

Have you experienced a Boot Camp? If so, how did you enjoy and did you do anything to prepare for it?

My hardcore rap playlist motivates my workout

Don’t judge me 😉 The past few weeks of my workout having been boring and dreaded.  I go to our neighborhood fitness center, which I LOVE and I often get caught up chatting with some other ladies about recipes and grocery stores.  Go figure.   However,  I find myself looking at the time on the elliptical constantly.

Unless I’m listening to my hardcore rap playlist on 10.  That’s when I’m in the rhythm and I flow straight through my workout in no time at all.  That’s the way it feels to me anyway.

I also weighed in this morning… I was scared that I may have gained 5 lbs.  I’m not a heavy eater, but a heavy snacker. Heavy! I tell you! Heavy!   That also depends on the time of month it is.  To my surprise I was still at 190 🙂 Whew!

So, the moral of the story is…. listen to hardcore rap while working out and stop talking about recipes and grocery stores 😉

Help Mama Get Fit: Revisit My Fitness Goals & Regroup

I’m in need of some kick the last 10 pounds motivation.  I’ll start the week off motivated and by the end of the week I’m comfortable and in my usually routine at the fitness center.  It may be time for me to revisit my fitness goals and regroup.

Another thing, although I’ve lost 14 pounds, there are those areas that need some isolated attention.  Arms, thighs, butt and that stomach that was destroyed by all 3 of my kids! GRRRR I should have did a Beyoncé and let another woman carry my babies.  Did I say that out loud? LOL 😉 j/k

Have you ever had a hard time losing the last few pounds to reach your weight loss goal and if so, how did you overcome it?
