Catalog Look for Less:Pottery Barn Decor Inspiration & $3 Storage Ottoman

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to participate in a collaboration video over on YouTube. The host, Juani from Juani’s House, asked us to create a DIY from inspiration we’ve seen in a catalog or in one of our favorite stores for less.Collaborations on YouTube are always up my alley because I get to complete projects that I haven’t completed or something I’ve been wanting to do.

My inspiration came from a recent Pottery Barn Catalog I picked up while visiting a few weeks ago. From the catalog I took away 4 elements away from the catalog and here’s how I mimicked them in our family room.

1. Throw pillows (See Video)

2. Faux Fur Throw (See Video)
3. Ottoman

4. Mercury vases

The DIY that I created was the ottoman. Well, actually my husband created it.We had some free wood in the garage along with an ottoman top that I bought at a garage sale this summer for 3 bucks! My hubby did an amazing job on it and I stained it with some leftover stain we had from doing the kids floors. Watch the video below and let me know how well I did with taking the Pottery Barn elements and adding them to our family room.

Free Find Friday: She tried to jack me for the buffet

This week was a good day at my neighbors curb. Was on my way to get some spray paint and spotted this along with the china cabinet on my neighbors curb who’s relocating to Atlanta.

The sign posted by it said FREE Furniture. I put the car in reverse and got my hubby. He got in the truck and we rolled down the street to load it up. While we’re loading the china cabinet a lady pulls up, hops out her car and tells the previous onwers of this dear furniture that she needs his help. Then she goes and stands by this piece and says that she wants it.

Ummmm I ignored her rude request. Then she refrained her question and asked if I was getting this too and I replied with a resounding YES. Sadly she was 5 minutes late.

Help Mama Thrift: Recent Vintage Finds

Recently I found some nice vintage beauties to add to my decor. I’m in the process of working on some projects in my kitchen and giving my kitchen an overall vintage feel. When I came across these curtains I grabbed them up for a few bucks.

These cute curtains with cherries will set off the look I’m going for.

We all know my thing for Milk Glass. So when I ran across these two salt and pepper shakers. They were mine.

Last beauty I found was this amber cake plate. I have a thing for vintage cake plates and this amber color will coordinate with my other amber pieces in the fall.

Hope you enjoyed my latest vintage finds. Found any goodies at your local thrift store lately?

Summer Decorating w/Milk Glass & How I use It To Organize

Hello everyone! Today I have a video to share with you on how I styled my China Cabinet using Milk Glass for the Summer. Many of you know that as of the past couple years I’ve grown a love for Milk Glass. Thankfully, I’ve found out which styles I enjoy. One of the styles I enjoy is the hobnail and the grapevine pattern.

In this video I’m also sharing how I use some other Milk Glass pieces to organize. In every room of my house I use Milk Glass to organize.

Craft space: store markers, washi tape and scrap pieces of craft paper.
Bedroom: Use pieces on top of my nightstand to hold pens, watch, earrings….
Bathroom: I use vases to hold toilet brush and I use a Pyrex bowl to hold the plunger.

Watch below to see more and get ideas. Tell me. Are you a lover of Milk Glass? If so, do you use pieces to organize in your home.
