Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!

th_Christmas-2I want to take this time and wish you a Merry Christmas. Today is the day my family celebrate the birth of Christ our Savior. This year my husband & I decided to do something different. Not to purchase a whole bunch of stuff. We talked it over with the kids & didn’t get any objections. Maybe since they where on strict supervision, gave us the upper hand. Our daughter brought her grades back up so, she did get all her electronics back. You better believe she thought it was Christmas.

Today, I’m going to go ole’ school…..I’m thankful for all the necessities in our life. The food, clothes, roof over our head, health & strength.

From our family to yours.

We wish you a healthy, blessed, peaceful, joyous & prosperous Christmas.

Love
Nicole

Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto? NOT!

Santa Claus goes straight to the ghetto? NOT! How do I know you ask? Well, I didn’t live in the Ghetto but, I did live in the Hood(WEST SI-III-DE!!!). I’ve never seen him nor has he gave me one FREAKIN toy(oops, sorry I was having flash backs)!

He's not flying

He's not flying

Beside the fact of me catching my uncle and father putting my bike together, if, Santa was real? He showed favoritism :-( . Why did other kids get a lot of toys for Christmas and I got socks & coats(not literally but you know what I mean)?

You know what other thing that made me think something was wrong with this Santa thing? We didn’t have a freakn chimney and if we did? How would this 500lb man fit down a chimney the size of a gutter hose?

Now, try explaining this to my kids(smart, smart & smarter) and the kids in the world today. I could imagine the questions they’ll ask.

Mama, if Santa is coming to the Ghetto do you think his sleigh will be safe on the roof?
Yeah, honey he has low jack.
Mama, is that one his rein deers?
No, honey it’s a security system.
Mama, when Santa comes how is he gonna get in, we don’t have a chimney?
Don’t worry honey we’ll leave the door unlocked.
Mama that’s not safe!
You’re right baby.
Mama, I don’t want Santa to come!
Why not honey?
Micheal Jackson saw his mommy kissing Santa Claus
Oh honey, you don’t have to worry about that,  mommy loves daddy.
Mama, how is the housing market on the North Pole?
Huh!
Mama, is Santa affected by the recession too?

With my smart kids, this Santa thing won’t fly(no pun in ten did!   Tell me, do your children believe in Santa and what funny questions have they asked you that contradicts his existence?

This Mama ain’t lying cause Santa’s not flying!

What’s Black Friday?

shoppingAfter the big Thanksgiving feast, the next Big thing is Black Friday. My husband and I have been out 5 years in a row to shop on this day. We’ve gotten things like DVD players, sewing table, kids toys, Wii, Cricket and etc etc etc.

After doing all this shopping, I thought, what is Black Friday? I did a little research and this is what I found out…. This is the day that retailers go from being in the Red to being in the Black (financially speaking).

So while they’re going from Red to Black, alot of us are going from Red to Redder(lol). I’d like to know what you’ll be doing on this Black Friday. My husband said I’ll be going out with him so we can spend some time together (yeh right). My mother is spending the holiday with us so, tomorrow we will do a dissapearing act for a couple hours.

Don’t forget to tell me. What will you be doing tomorrow for Black Friday?

I’m Thankful

thanksgivingThese are the things I’m truly thankful for:
God, who put up with my unthankfulness & love me in-spite of my sometimes ugly ways.

My family who can sometime get on my last nerve. Even the little baby. Bedtime. Whew!

My baby girl that I thought was on her way to freedom from the pamper. Until she backslid to her old pamper ways.

My oldest daughter that talks about basketball all the freak-in time. Thank God for selective hearing.

My one and only son. He helps us keep 20/20 vision. We have to keep our EYES on him (literally).

My job. Need I say more!

The man of the house. For being the man of the house. Not to mention he can cook a MANified sweet potato pie.

The roof over our head. Even though the mortgage ain’t nowhere near what it use to be & it sure ain’t worth what it’s suppose to be!  Thankfully we’re not in foreclosure.

My clients. They trust me with their hair. That’s truly a blessing.  Falling asleep while someone is in your head is truly a trust factor.

Social Networks. Just another addiction I needed.

Starbucks! Haaaaaaaleluuuuuuuuuuuyarrrrrrrrrrrr! I’ve been in and out of recovery but least I’m trying. I can quit whenever I want to!

Today I’m Thankful for all God has blessed me with.  Health, Love, Family & His continual provision.  Truly I’m thankful everyday or at least I try to be.  I Hope your day is filled with gratitude.

Thankful Mama
