Pictures are Worth a Thousand Wordless Wednesday

Just wanted to share some pics I’ve taken within the last 2 weeks.  I’m going to start with this past Sunday.   We all went to see Toy Story 3 and the movie was AWESOME!  Everyone enjoyed it.  It was so emotional for me, from my oldest to youngest….Toy Story has been a family favorite.  We even went in our crawlspace to find Buzz & Jessie.  Woody was already out and he had already been passed down to my youngest. Now she has them all.  She says she wants all of them…lol (the entire crew)

"Ma! Why the Sun looking at me?"

"Ma!Ma!Ma! Why is the sun looking at me?"

"Ma. Get this girl. It looks like I'm holding my daughter!"

Hop Scotch wit me.

Dora & Boots

Hubby's Bean plant

Here are some updates on my Hubby’s garden.  This is a pic of his beans.  He purchased this planter to plant them in and had to add on an extension.  It’s at least 10ft.

James & the Bean Stalk

These are Bell Peppers.  So far he’s counted 17 peppers on the plant.

Zucchini Squash

These are the green & cabbage.

Did you think I’d let him get all the attention? (lol)

My planting update.

I’ve always wanted the Cannas but they’re around $25.00 in the garden center if they are in the pot. So, this year I purchase the bulbs or tubers. I don’t know exactly which they were. However, look at them grow. I can’t wait until they begin to bloom.

There’s nothing like Elephant Ears to give a tropical feel in the Windy City. This is another one of my favorites.

Elephant Ear

Do you remember this basket I planted a few weeks ago. Well, here it is! Filling in lovely. I’ll be doing these for now on. I’m also going to make sure I use this type of arrangement with all of my pots.

Basket Planter update

I don’t know what this is? 2yrs ago, I threw some wild flower seeds in this spot and every year  a different plant comes up. If, you know what this is, please tell me?

Now, this is one of those…What…Had…Happen…Was…I planted the Caladium (my Grandma plant them every year and hers are gorgeous)in the pot. I don’t remember the petunia?????AND…the green plant that’s looking so lovely and vivacious…I have no clue what it is. It was embarking on my husbands garden. I thought it was part of a Purple Cone flower that I had in the spot it was growing in..so, I told him to dig it up and I put it in this pot. Now, I’m waiting on it to bloom.

Rain! Rain! Rain! Almost everyday & night.

This is what the storm did to my Clematis plant. I must admit that the trellis was very shaky.

She calls this her “Special Area”  We’ve been buying Rubber Mulch and putting it here.  We’re now at bag number 15…….And we have about 10 more to go.  The one thing we have to be careful of is making sure, she always has on shoes…..and that the mulch isn’t hot.  I was torn between the rubber or the wood…. but with wood all I can think about are splinters.  So far so good.  It’s soft and we don’t have to worry about her falling on a hard surface.  Now time to get some more mulch.

Lastly, The past few weeks have been going so well. Today was a very productive day for me working (from home). Look what came in the mail! My Trademark application is finished!!!!!!!Over 2yrs ago, I began to start my own business. In which I filed to trademark the website, had to find a Web Designer and many many more things. The Trademark process takes about a year….but I encountered one thing after another…. I literally cried when I read the letter. It was so overwhelming. The website is a Social Network Directory. There’s a community, Directory, forum and much more. Please, feel free to list your blogs, websites, social networks in the Directory. While you’re at it you can even join the community. (hint hint) Hope you all enjoyed the pics.

Technically I go nuts this time of year!

[media-credit id=1 align="alignleft" width="150"][/media-credit]I know I’ve talked about my husband going overboard in his garden…..but…I’m not far from him. I spent some time yesterday planting some annuals in pots. There’s a few garden centers I love to go to for ideas. However, the arrangements are a bit pricey for me. They cost around $59.95 with a variety of annuals. So, what I do is go to the centers and get ideas. Here’s one I worked on yesterday. This picture to the left is my inspiration.  Sorry the shot isn’t clearer. I have to take a picture of a picture on my hubby’s phone.  Look closely and you’ll see the basket handle on top.

[media-credit id=1 align="aligncenter" width="300"][/media-credit]

I started with my basket.  This is one that I already had.  I lined it with plastic and punched holes in it for drainage.

Then I picked up a variety of annuals from Wal-Mart

Next I placed them in my basket to see which ones will go in the basket.

Last, I removed them from their containers,  placed them in the basket and added some potting soil.  I’ll show some pics in a few weeks when everything fills in.  So, tell me what do you think.  Did I get close to my inspiration?  Have you created any potting arrangements this year?  If you have them on you blog let me know, I’d love to see them.
