Wacky Tacky Day

image

It’s Spirit Week at my daughter’s school and today is Wacky Tacky Day.  When I dropped her off this morning all the other kids looked normal.  Of course she began to second guess if, she had her days mixed up. LOL Maybe it just took me 17 years to realize that my child is not normal. :-)

Random Wordless Wednesday

Just some random pics I wanted to share.

1. My oldest daughter and my dad has this battle of who’s the tallest. My daughter has officially passed him up. He has on shoes in this pic and my daughter doesn’t. He’s 6’1 1/4. We’re thinking she’s atleast 6’2 1/2. Everytime she’s measured at the doctor they’re way off! They measured me at 5’7 and I’m atleast 5’10. Don’t know what’s up with that.

2, 3 & 4.my youngest daughter and oldest daughter making pizza. I’m sure you know who’s I’m charge.

5. Was a pic taking outside yesterday of my daughter while we were outside picking weeds.

6. A fairy I have in my yard.

7.My daughter came to me yesterday with this flower she picked out of the yard. I asked where did she get it from because I planted a flower similar to it about 4 years ago and it didn’t return. She showed me where she picked it. It was growing in the middle of her play area. Nowhere near, where I planted it. If my memory serves me correct, I think its a cardinal. It’s suppose to do well in moist areas. I think I’m going to dig it up and plant it in a safe area until it gets established.

Have a great day.

I’d like you to meet….Technical Tuesday

image

Our family pets or should I say, “pet”.  I’m sure you’re saying, “awwwww….how cute.”LOL However, this is a story that will take a twist…just wait!

A couple months ago I felt the urge to spend my money on my ungrateful kids. I thought they could use someone else to talk to and when they needed a time out from getting on each other nerves a pet would be a great buffer.  Since a dog was out of the question I decided to get them each a hermit crab.

My son’s crab was huge and within the guarantee period he died. We took him back and they gave us another one.

My daughter’s crab was little, just like her.  She even named her after herself.  So, the crabs name was Jala (along with every doll & stuffed animal she owns is named after her).

Her crab didn’t die…….during the guarantee period……..she died last month.  My son realized it while my daughter was sleep.  The next day we didn’t say anything.  Or the next.  Or the next.  Today, she still doesn’t know.  She thinks it’s hiding in my son’s crab’s larger shell.  Because that’s what she did. Hide in the large shell.

Now, you may have thought I was being a judgemental mama when I called my kids ungrateful.  But! How in the world can a child’s pet be dead for an entire month and they not notice it’s gone?  The other day she finally asked to spray it, but then, I wasn’t ready to break the news to her. So I distracted her.  A week after the her crab died my son maliciously tried to break the news to her.

Son: your crab dead! (With the evil eye)

Daughter: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!IT’S!NOT!!!!!!!!!IT’S!!!HIDING!!!!IN!!!THE!!!!BIG!!!!!!SHELL!!!!!!!(shaking and trembling violently)

Me:(telling my son) SHHHHHHHH

Shes wasn’t ready for it yet.

I planned to replace it before she asked about it and I kept forgetting to do it.  Tell me what should I do? Break the news to her or replace it before she finds out?

Dora’s ballet adventures DVD Review

image

If you’re like any other family with a young child in the house, you may receive frequent visits from a little girl.  This isn’t an ordinary little girl.  The reason I say that, often times I don’t know she’s here until I get ready to sit down and I’m stopped in mid air by a little girl yelling, “DON’T SIT THERE! YOU’LL SIT ON DORA!”

So when I was given the opportunity to review Dora’s ballet adventure, I said, “bring it on!” Well not exactly in those words.  However, I knew my baby girl would LOVE IT!

Sorry I didn’t take a picture of her face when she realized she had mail.

Dora’s Ballet Adventures comes on DVD containing 4 episodes.

*Dora’s Ballet Adventure
Dora’s ready to perform in her dance recital, but first she has to find her ballet slippers.

*The Super Silly Fiesta
Dora and Boots are ready to party with Big Red Chicken, but wait!  What’s a party without cake?  Have no fear! Dora and Boots are on a mission to find the missing cake.

*Dora, La Musicio
Join in the parade with Dora and Boots! Senor Shush locks all of the instruments in a music box.  In the words of my daughter, “Dora and Boots are there to save day. In this case, the parade.

*Surprise
Dora is planning a surprise party for Boots.  With your help making it through many obstacles including that sneaky fox……the party can go on.

There hasn’t been one Dora episode that hasn’t kept my daughter engaged, curious and actively jumping up and down.  This DVD is a must have for any child’s growing Dora collection.  Does your child or grandchild watch Dora? If so, does he or she have a favorite episode?

Disclosure: I received this review in return for my honest opinion. See disclosure policy for more details.

Back to School

image

Ya heard?!  Thank you Jesus!!!!!!! Do you sense the excitement in my post? Of course you don’t. This week my kids will return to School.  My oldest is a senior (I’m getting teary eyed). My son is in 5th grade & this year he didn’t have to go to summer school to pass.  I’m just excited to get back in the swing of things.

If all works as planned (unless I regress to my teenage rebellion), me myself and I will return to School in October!  How the hell did that happen?!!!!!!!! I’m still trying to figure this one out!  Cause after I finally got my Good Enough Diploma (GED), with the exception of Cosmetology School, I vowed to Neva!!!! Set my behind in another class chair again.

However, I’ve changed.  I think (wink).  I’m also scared.  Yep scared.  I just said, “God, if you want me to go….please make a way.  If you don’t I’ll make like I’m in highschool and ditch my dream :-/”.

It’s amazing how our lives take soooooo many different turns, curves, back roads and bumps.  Especially, when you know where you wanna go, but not really. Know how you can get there, but not really.  Have a map, but don’t know how to read it.  Cars on empty and the next gas station is 5 miles away.  This is certainly going to be a journey and I’m scared like a child on their first day at a new school.  Maybe I can ask my two oldest to hold my hand.  They’re pros at this now.
