We were so privileged to get rid….oops I mean have the kids spend the weekend with grandma, my oldest was in Tennessee at a tournament and we were home alone! WooHo! So, hub & I went to our favorite restaurant Friday night. It’s called Hamadas, a Japanese restaurant were they cook the food in front of you while you sit at a table with seven strangers. My husband thinks I don’t eat all my food so I can bring my doggie bag home to my puppies. Actually I do.Even though they weren’t home, I saved my leftovers for them and they didn’t come home until Saturday night. You would have thought they sniffed it out. The first thing my son says at 10pm at night, “I’m hungry what’s to eat.” Do you love bringing home leftovers? If not for the kids, but so you can have something to eat later or the next day? Ps I know this pic is irrelevant, but I’m loving the pics on my phone & the pics it takes. NicoleNicole is a wife, mother of 3, CEO & hairstylist living in Suburban Illinois.
Sometimes in order to get my hubby to get his “Honey Do List” done, I have to use a little sugar and spice. We’ve been doing spring cleaning and trying to get a lot of projects done that have been put on hold, just because we haven’t done them. Over 4yrs ago we purchased 4 vertical blinds. My husband put up 3 pair and left the last one because we didn’t know which room to use it for. So, today I woke up with another project added to his list. Time to put up the 4yr old vertical blinds. But with one request….. “Fix me a good breakfast.” By the time I finished messing around the house it was brunch! He was satisfied and I’m satisfied because I’m looking at a fresh new set of blinds on our bedroom window. Guess it doesn’t hurt to turn a few tricks in the kitchen. This so happen to be my “now” husband, he & my best friend went to grammar school together. They spoke and we went on our way. (video inserted just to show you where I came from) However, I’m going to skip this video.
If you’ve been following my blog this week, you’ve noticed a series of events. First, I came home Monday and the kitchen was clean and ready for me to cook. Second, I came home yesterday and hubby had the potatoes going and we finished dinner, Neely style. Today, I came home, potatoes, veggies and bread was done. You know what else? He cooked the chicken (choir singing Hallelujah…….). He cooked the chicken! The dinner was done. All I had to do was sit down and eat. Now you know what that means? Thursday & Fridays are the days I pick up the kids. So, when he makes it home from work, the only thing he’ll have to do is sit down and eat. If that wasn’t a Mama Remote moment? I don’t know what was!
My husband scored three dozen brownie points today. Or was it muffin points? I think he really wants something hot for sweetest day, lol. What had happen was… every day he’ll ask, “what we’re gonna eat tonight?” We’ll make our suggestions and there, we’ll have it. Today when I came home he had the potatoes going. Fish was unthawed and we were in the kitchen doing it Neely style (like Down Home with the Neelys). Not only was he helping me throw down in the kitchen, he brought me my favorite pumpkin muffins fromDunkin Donuts (this is not advertisement nor am I getting paid for typing this). Like I say, “If mama not happy, yall not going eat in peace.” I think someone is making preparation for Sweetest Day. So that’s how my hubby scored three dozen brownie, oops…..I mean muffin points today.
Sweetest Day is October 17,2009. If you’ve already made plans for that special someone don’t leave any details undone. Whenever I think about special Holidays, the least little detail resignates in my mind. The little details tells your love one that, “I thought about you.” While planning for that special day think about our five senses. Hear, Sight, Smell, Touch & Taste. I’m sure one out of the five will say, “I thought about you.” Take some time and enjoy that special day. Nicole NicoleNicole is a wife, mother of 3, CEO & hairstylist living in Suburban Illinois.
As you may know this is my Anniversary week. So all post this week are dedicated to the one I love. With today being Thankful Thursday, in my world anyway. Just wanted to make a list of why I’m thankful for the man in my life. 1. His love is unconditional- Those days that i’m being the Wicked Witch of my home. He tends to keep it cool. That’s pretty good because some days I can’t tolerate myself 2.His Provision- Hey, nothing says a good man like one that goes to work! Nough said. 3. Great father- My kids love him. He’ll play video games, chess, uno and any other game you bring his way. I guess you can say he’s the fun one. 4. Lover- No elaboration needed. 5. Husband- His commitment to our marriage is unbreakable. What more could a woman ask for. I’m greatful today and everyday. Reflecting on these things regularly keeps our marriage renewed.
Yesterday marked the day of me and my husbands 10 yr Anniversary. We consider ourselves blessed. With the divorce rate being high we know this is a huge accomplishment. Now, we’ve argued over the socks on the floor, not letting the toilet seat down and me of all people not putting stuff back where it belongs. Yeh, we argued for about 9 yrs. Just kidding(lol). I remember the first Aha moment I had realizing that I too could make my husband sick. We were argueing about something. I said, “You get on my nerve!” He replied, “You do too.” I thought to myself, huh I bet I do get on his nerve? That was the moment I realized I wasn’t as perfect as I thought. So after these 10 yrs of experience we have learned alot, yelled alot, listened alot and love continually. To all of you married women, I hope your marriage will continue to be filled with love, peace, joy, fun, faithfuness and longevity. Nicole NicoleNicole is a wife, mother of 3, CEO & hairstylist living in Suburban Illinois.
