The Last Monday of 2009

th_2010It’s Motivational Monday! It’s The Last Monday in 2009. A New Year is fast approaching & will not wait on us even if, we’re ready or not!

2009 was a very interesting year for me. I started the year off going back to work full-time. I was determined to start the new job, focused and determined to not let anyone or thing distract me. Did it work? A little bit, lol.

I also started on a huge project. Which will be unveiled to the world within a few weeks. Associated with this task came a lot of disappointment & surprises. As well as a lot of excitement, encouragement &  favour of God working on my behalf. The good definitely out weighed all the bad & the ugly.

This year was the year of the “Blog.” I started my first Blog this year. Ending the year with my husband & I starting one together. I’m loving it! It has truly become therapy.

My children, have been one of the greatest joys in my life. My oldest has grown by leaps and bounds(6’2). We had a few rocky moments with her grades the first semester. After taking every electronic that she could possible think of except her alarm clock. She’s gotten back on track. My son, has given us some challenges this year. I think it’s a boy thing. I’m determined to watch him very closely. I refuse to let him fall through any cracks in my fingers. My baby girl has amazed us with her extreme vocabulary growth as well as her terrible 2 attitude.  Despite any mishaps with the kids.  I can always find something to laugh & smile about.

So, I’m excited to see a new year. I’m excited about the UNLIMITED possibilities that are about to take place in my life. Now, I know it won’t be a cake walk. Nevertheless, I’m willing to get dirty in order to have my cake and eat it too.

I hope 2010 brings you Prosperity in your Personal, Family, Spiritual, Financial, Business & every other area of your life that will make you prosperous.  I’m excited to hear  how was 2009 for you? What do you have planned for 2010? Feel free to put your page link to your site in comment box if you already created a end of year post.  I’ll make sure I cruise through.

Help! I’m Flippin Out..

Dive right in!

Dive right in!

Hey, what can I say? You’re glad to see it. If you see it, that means you’re alive. You’re not so excited to see it, depending on which angle you’re seeing it at. Nevertheless, it’s here, gracing us with it’s presence. What’s here, you ask? Motivational Monday!!!!!! WooHoo!

Now, you can flip out if you wanna! Like I did tonight while playing with my baby girl. It was bedtime(the most important time of the day lol). I was trying to keep her occupied while my male child made his bed. Yeh, 9 o’ clock at night making his bed, to go to sleep. Go figure? If I didn’t distract her, Mamacita, would keep flipping in his bed, therefore he couldn’t make it up.

So, I tell her, “Come on! Flip in Mommy bed!” I run in the room and flip on my bed. Now, this was a good idea, in my head, but as I began to flip all I could think about is where was I gonna land? The last flip I did, I had to have been about 10yrs old. Add 27 yrs + 130lbs = Priceless aches and pains in the morning. WooWee! I’m glad to say, “I landed on the bed!” Where was little Mamacita when I needed her most? Still flipping on her brothers bed!

The moral of the story is…. Monday is not gonna wait for you. So, your best bet is to go dive right in and have a little fun while you’re doing it. Yeh, you might fall on your butt! Guess what, nobody will even see you because, they’re still in the bed.

What fears do you have or have had? After you confronted them you said to yourself, “What was I flipping out about?”

Don’t Judge a Book By it’s cover

We’ve all heard or said it before. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Wikipedia describes it as a metaphorical phrase which means ” don’t determine the worth of something based on it’s appearance”.

Now we can break this down many ways. Today I’m going keep it simple. This summer my husband was the gardener. Just about a week ago he harvest some of our sweet potatoes. This was so exciting for us because we’ve never grown sweet potatoes and my husband makes a “mean” sweet potatoe pie. I’m sure you’re thinking, “what does this have to do with judging a book by it’s cover?” I’ll let you be the judge.

When mama’s happy…

momEveryday is a day that i’m thankful to be alive.  Every Monday is another day that I complete all the stuff that I didn’t the week before.  Today was Columbus Day so the children were all home with dear Dad.  I was at work taking a break from them.  You know what I’m talking about.  We love each other dearly but in order to continue to walk in love we can use a break from one another.

Before leaving work today my hubby asked what was on the menu for tonight?  We decided on tacos, beans and rice.  So, I asked him to get the ground turkey started.  In the back of my mind I was hoping I came in to the clean house I left behind.  Nothing says Arrrrrrrr!  Like coming home to a sink full of dishes and starving faces that don’t see the dishes in the sink.

Much to my suprise, when I came in, the house was spotless and the ground turkey was finished.  That’s what I call team work.  When mama’s happy, you can eat in peace.

It’s here…..

It’s Monday again and if we want to continue to have a roof over our head we need to get up and keep it moving.  My Cosmetology Instructor would always say, “money motivates you.”  Now that’s the truth.  As I think about it is it the money that’s motivating me or what I need the money for?  Hum?

Last week here in Chicago we lost the bid on the Olympics.  They say over $100 million was spent to compete in the bid.  That was a true example of what the money was needed for.

On the flip side everyone had their own opinion about Chicago hosting the Olympics.  Some wanted it, some didn’t and some didn’t care.  Those that did was motivated by the money that Chicago may have gained.  Those that didn’t felt that those that did were motivated by greed.

Anywho.  It’s Mondaaaaaay and what ever motivated you today to keep it moving.  Only you need to know.
