The Black Squirrel Sighting and I have witnesses North Side While traveling on the North side of Chicago today I noticed black cats climbing trees and playing in the street. This is unusual. Seeing a black cat isn’t unusual but seeing them in multitudes were odd. As I took a closer look…..I nearly lost control of my car while trying to see, if, I saw what I thought I saw! It’s not a cat! It’s a BLACK SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!!! I have never seen a Black Squirrel in my life! My side of town Where I’m from and where I live now, I’ve only seen Brown Squirrels. I must also mention, that I’ve been on the North side numerous times and have never seen a Black Squirrel before. Where did they come from and how long have they been there? Indiana Couple months ago my husband and daughter took a trip to Indiana to visit a college. We live less than 30miles from Indiana but the part of Indiana they traveled to was a few hours away. During their visit they noticed how friendly the squirrels were. They were also told that if they took another route home they would see [...]

Today I’m going to take sometime and lay all my cards on the table. Being me, is sometimes overwhelming. What can I say? I’m a mom, wife, work outside of the home and I’ve got about 5 projects I’m trying to complete. So, sometimes putting things in perspective helps relieve a little tension. Don’t get me wrong. I love being me. Who else can be me, like me? This is how I’m going to do it. 1.Put all my cards on the table 2. Sort my hand according to suit (importance) 3. Play the hand that I’m dealt I do plan to win this game. Let’s remember to take sometime an prioritize our task. It makes it easier on us.
All over our city, there’s road work being done. When ever I see the sign, “Road Work Ahead”, I start trying to think of a way out. It seems like every time I make a detour, I end up lost or nowhere fast. Just a couple weeks ago I landed myself in Indiana! I didnt make it home until 9:45 that night. When I should have made it by 7. Ugh! Going through these journeys I’ve come to a realization. In some life situations we must be patient. There are times we need to learn a lesson on becoming better moms, wives or a better us. Trying to take the easy road can lead us to a dead end. When our life is under construction we have to stop making detours. This helps us to face challenges head on. It may take a little longer to get to the destination but it helps to minimize frustration and dissapointment. The great thing about construction is…. When it’s complete there’s a smooth road ahead. Now I use the extra time in traffic to enjoy some music or listen to my favorite audio book.
We’ve all heard it before. Don’t call me, I’ll call you. Well with texting the new phenomenon in this text age. We’re saying, “Don’t call me, I’ll txt u.” We’re rarely talking to one another due to our texting addiction. You know what I think? I think we’re really saying, ”I really don’t want to talk to you, so I’ll txt u.” The problem I have with this is, people won’t text back. There’s no excuse in the freakn world that you couldn’t possibly text me back! Texting is so simple that you can text on a potty break, lunch break, 15 minute break ,give me, a freakn break! It’s so easy. K or ttyl is easy as 1,2,3. While I’m getting this off my chest. “LOL”. Which means laugh out loud. Should not follow a sarcastic remark. Let me give you an example. Those red pointy shoes u wore 2day were cute lol. Who’s laughing out loud? You! Not me, cause I don’t think its funny! I’ll give you something to laugh about! I would rather that you really not won’t to talk to me let alone text me. So, as we continue to text in this text age, let’s practice some [...]

Reality TV has taken us into someone elses reality. I don’t know about you, but there are a few I like to watch myself. As I was deeply engaging in a conversation about one of my favorites, I began to think. What if my life was a Reality Show? Jon & Kate plus 8. We’ve heard it all over the news. I’m not going into any details, but i’m sure you’ve heard the story. The Real Housewives of Orange County/Atlanta. Don’t know how real it is? Anywho. Drama, Catfights, Envy & sooooo much more. Let’s sit back and think, how would my life look on the big movie screen. There is no perfect life, but will people Tivo you, to watch you cuss out your so called best friend? Will people press rewind, because they can’t believe the words that came out of your mouth? Hey! They might think your soooo FREAKN boring! Since your not getting forclosed on or going through a divorce. Ugh! What a boring life! How could you not have all that drama in your life? That’s how we like it, juicy, drama filled & down right exciting! In reality, you have to live your own [...]

Have you ever looked at someone elses life & thought, that’s nice or I wish I had that. If so, STOP! I was at Starbucks the other day. The young lady that was giving me my Venti Carmel Frappicino, had the most beautiful tan. While waiting for my change, I glanced down at my arm and noticed that we were the same complexion! Do you hear that? We were the same complexion! As I paused and thought about it, I came to a realization. Never look at someone else and want what they have. What you have is just as good. Even though I wasn’t looking at her with envy. It help me to, not look at someone with envy. So when you look in the mirror, know that you too are Beautiful.
I’m so excited about starting this blog thing. It seems as if everything I do, I think about how I’d write about it. So here it goes. Today was HOT! When I went in the bathroom upstairs I was looking for the switch to turn off the steam room. Get this, we don’t have a steam room. It was ewwww! So humid. So I just cranked up the air. Really down to make it kick on. You know what I mean. Just one of those days to just PAUSE and think about what I could get done inside. PAUSE- it may be HOT outside, but with the way this year is flying by FAST FORWARD a few months and we’ll wish we had some of this heat.
