Netflix Stream Team: September Movie Pick – Luv

Last week my husband and I were out thrifting on his off day. We were on our way home, kids in school and a little time to spend together. We had thought about going to Panera for our usual soup, danish and coffee. After thinking about it, we had soup at home

We had danishes at home and we also had our own coffee. The only thing left was some entertainment. We searched through Netflix to see what we could watch. I have a confession. I have the hardest time picking a movie on Netflix. The hardest! So, I let my husband pick a movie for us and he picked, ‘LUV’ featuring Common, Michael Rainey Jr., Dennis Haysbert, Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton and Meagan Good.

Many of you know, I pretty much sum up everything in my life in a life lesson approach. That also goes for movies that I watch. Honestly, the title, ‘LUV’ can be considered a good title or not depending on the way you look at the movies plot.

This is how I saw it. Maybe a bit over the top, but this is my depiction. The spelling of the word Love is distorted by spelling it LUV. Which also was the case of the relationship between an uncle and his nephew. If we look back on the way we were raised, the people that impacted our lives if, we didn’t learn the why of it all… we can repeat the cycle. This is the lifestyle that Common chose to live after being released from prison. Not only did he chose this life , but he started a new cycle by showing his 11 year old nephew the ropes in what he called “LUV”. A Lifestyle of deceit, murder and thee drug game.

What was the latest movie you watched on Netflix and have you seen, ‘LUV’?

Date Night- in Netflix Movie Pic – Safe Haven

I am a member of The Netflix StreamTeam and have been enjoying the opportunity to catch on some new and old shows I’ve seen or new to me.  Being a StreamTeam member, I also have this cool ROKU box.  I’ll just call it the remote to watch many different viewing platforms.  Like Hula, Netflix, YouTube and more.  The option to watch YouTube from my television is one of the best features I like about it.  I can sit back in my bed and catch up on some of my favorite YouTubers.

This weekend we had a chance to get in a good movie on Netflix.  I’m a romantic, make me cry at the end of the movie, kinda girl.  I’m also one that will turn off a movie within the first 10 minutes if it doesn’t hold my interest.

Safe Haven

Well,  Safe Haven with actors Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel pretty much pulled me in from the very beginning.  Actress Julianne moves to a remote town in North Carolina to get away from her haunting past.  I’m usually good at reading the end of movies however, there’s a part in the ending that caught me by complete surprise.  My husband says he knew it all along, but I don’t believe him.  I’ll give you a hint without details… the woman that befriended Julianne after she relocated to North Carolina.  Totally caught me be surprise.

Any Netflix pics this weekend?

What’s Jala watching on Netflix this month

As a member of Netflix Stream Team I wanted to feature the youngest in our house and what she’s watching on Netflix. After talking to her about all of her favorite shows on Netflix, I think Jala’s old school at heart. Every show she named was a straight classic. Here goes…

#1 Strawberry Shortcake

#2 Care Bears

#3 My Little Pony

With the exception of My Little Pony, I remember all of them from my oldest watching them when she was younger. To my surprise I saw her watching Walking With Dinosaurs. So, this Saturday we spent time watching it together. She’s kinda like that person you don’t want to go to the show with. She tells it all before it happens if she’s seen it before.

What are your younger children watching on Netflix this summer?
