Another Thursday and so much to be thankful for! Today I’m linking up with Teresha at Marlie and Me for Things I’m Loving This Thursday. Before I begin with my list, there are a few things I’m thankful for. This Basketball season has been a wonderful blessing for my daughter. She’s growing by leaps and bounds, physically, emotionally & spiritually. This week she scored 20pts & 12 rebounds in one of her games. Yes, she had an awesome game but one of the reasons we’re proud of her, she was the only starter left in the game. The rest of the starters were in foul trouble or fouled out. Proving that she is a leader and willing to step up to the plate in the time of need for her team. Another great aspect about the game, a player on the opposite team was 6’3, we called it the battle of the bigs! My baby girl put it on her! Also, she’s in the process of breaking her High Schools record for charges. What is a charge? It’s when you allow somebody to run right through you while you hold your ground. Those are my own words. I’m so proud [...]

It’s another Thankful Thursday & I’m excited to link up with Marlie and Me for another Things I’m loving this Thursday. Today, I’ve been feeling good. Just happy to be alive and glad to have my family in my life. This is the second week of my #HelpMamaBringSexyBack mission. I’ve exercised every day & today I was able to work out on the Elliptical for 30min straight! Whew! That’s a plus for a big boned girl. LOL But seriously, I’m having a great week. The things I’m loving this Thursday will all deal with #HelpMamaBringSexyBack 1.My hubby’s iPod- Every morning I take it to work out. I haven’t learned how or haven’t tried to learn how to download music on my iPod. So, I’ve been listening to his music selections. Usher has been my album of choice. Just a little secret….He has great pole dancing music. LOL I’m just saying. I’d love to get my daughter’s phone because she has some good music selections as well but even at 5 a.m she’s glued to her phone. I’m loving hubby’s iPod this Thursday! 2.Elliptical- We have a thing going on! Seeing him every morning has began to make my day. When I began working [...]

Today I’m linking up with Marlie & Me for the “Things I’m Loving This Thursday” linky. Today I have a whole lot to love. I’m loving the fact that I’m back in full force with #HelpMamaBringSexyBack! This past summer I began working out and walking and I cut it all short. I stopped doing it! I could blame it on the rain, kids and any other excuse I can come up with but it all comes back to me. How bad do I want it? I need it bad, now I have to want it bad. I’ve tried the working out at home and I will put it of until later and later never comes. So yesterday, I joined our local Fitness Center and went the very same hour to work out. I feel so good! I’m loving the fact that I joined and went to workout yesterday. Every morning I will go workout. Without the kids, without my husband and without the lame excuses. As I walked in the bathroom yesterday, I looked in the mirror and said, “I love you.” It sounds crazy but actually, that’s what we should be able to do. Look at our self in [...]

With Thanksgiving 14 days away, I can’t help but think about making plans. Will we visit? Will we host? NO! What will I cook? Then, another thing comes to mind. Christmas! Will we shop on Black Friday? What do the kids want? Questions, questions, questions and not many decisions made yet. I can’t forget about the reason of our celebrating Thanks Giving. Why we have so much to be thankful for. Sometimes taking time to reflect on the year helps us to really appreciate all the blessing we do have. Have you began to make plans for the Holiday?
It’s Thankful Thursday and I do have a lot to be thankful for. Starting with the storm that wasn’t as bad on yesterday. Just imagine me and my three kids under our desk. Hubby was caught in the storm. My oldest couldn’t get on the floor due to a sprung ankle. She would have ducked for cover if the Tornado actually hit. My son was the man of the house and Miss Chatter Girl, did not close her mouth the entire time. Whew! When I think she talks a lot, she breaks her record. Finally my husband made it home safe. He took cover in a Best Buy! Yeah right! That was right up his alley. After it was all over there was no severe damage. Except for one broken pot and my Clematis fell again. I hope you all are safe. Did you have any storms in your area this week and how has the weather been in your area?
“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Is something I’ve heard growing up. I’ve actually said it many times. Much to my amazement it rings true to the ears of many. Having children, this is often said if, a child isn’t doing good. Getting into trouble, bad grades, hanging with the wrong crowd or just outright rebellious! Most of the time the child doesn’t know that, he or she didn’t fall far from the tree. They’re just lead to believe that they have a problem, that their parent never had. Come on now! We know we don’t tell our kids our little secretssssssssss. Do you? It takes some relative to look at you out the corner of their eye, when you’re telling them you’re having problems with your teenager. They’re looking at you like that because they remember when you were a teenager. Grrrrrr Let me get to the root of the matter. I’m about to do a comparison. Me as a teen vs. my teen daughter. ME Daughter Me Daughter Now who says, “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree?” NicoleNicole is a wife, mother of 3, CEO & hairstylist living in Suburban Illinois.
Congrats Ladies!!!! My eldest daughter is getting ready to go down state with her High School Varsity team. My daughter is a Sophomore, so, this past season she played with the Sophomore team. When her season was almost up, she was invited by the Varsity coach to play with the Varsity team for the rest of their season. So now, we’re here. They have made it to the final FOUR! She’s so excited & I’m excited for the girls. This isn’t the first time she’s had the privilege to play in the finals. Her 8th grade girls team also made it to the final FOUR then to the final TWO. Sadly they lost( cheating refs). They were devastated! They couldn’t understand how adults could be so unfair. My big girl is packed and ready to roll. Stay tuned for the update on their stats. Ladies! SHOW EM WHAT YA WORKING with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Proud Mama NicoleNicole is a wife, mother of 3, CEO & hairstylist living in Suburban Illinois.
Have you ever had to take out a picture of your kids so, you can crack a smile in the mid day? Well, here is my smiling inspiration. I’m sure by the title of the post you just about know where I’m about to go. Yep. I’m about to vent so prepare to duck while reading. This past year I’ve encountered some really Sorta, Thankful circumstances. I’ve had people bail, steal, do absolutely SHH….., expect to run back in, not take me seriously, act like I don’t know what I’m doing, dictate my every move, change their mind after they told me to do that, have me compromise my moral professionalism (taking a breath), not give a hair what I think(literally), act like its rocket science when its really not & think its ALL GOOD. A lot to be Sorta, Thankful for. Well, actually I should be Really Thankful. If, they didn’t bail, they’d only be around to reap the rewards. If, they didn’t steal. I wouldn’t know they were a thief. If, they didn’t pull all that other SHH… I wouldn’t learn what not to do even in hairy situations(literally). So, today, I’m Really Thankful for being Sorta, Thankful. [...]

It’s Thankful Thursday and am I thankful! I spoke last week about the earthquake in Haiti. I told you about my client that went there the week before. Just want to report that she and her husband made it home today. I haven’t seen her yet. Will see her on Saturday for her hair appointment. I haven’t been this excited in a while. Seeing all the tragedy on tv and knowing someone that has been blessed by God with life. Thank all of you for your prayers. Let’s continue to pray for Haiti. Thankful Nicole NicoleNicole is a wife, mother of 3, CEO & hairstylist living in Suburban Illinois.
