My daughter & Rajon Rondo

My daughter has the arrow pointing at her head.

My daughter returned back from her Kentucky trip.  She met Rajon Rondo while she was there.  He was there for his Basketball camp that was starting today.  She’s a Celtics fan and of course  Basketball.

She said, “He’s not that tall.”  So she got kicks out of seeing him eye to eye.  My daughter is about 6’2 and she just made 16 on Monday.  I think her Basketball height is 6’3 seeing as though they lie about their height.

On the Bench

I like many other Mom’s, have children actively involved in sports. My daughter plays, Volley Ball, Track & her love, Basket Ball. “What’s the difference between a Hooper Mama & a Pit Bull? This Mama is not a !@?#!” I’m a Mom that loves my children and my first priority is my family. Here, I will add inspirations as I’m lead to share them here. We teach our children to put God first and His Favour will follow.

On the Bench

Whenever my daughter has to sit on the bench, there are times when I’d like to scream! At her that is. There’s nothing like seeing your child sitting on the bench and he/she looks like their in time-out. Pouting, mad and angry at the fact that the coach has sat them down. On the other hand being a parent, my husband I can’t stress enough, the importance of having a right spirit, Sitting on the Bench.

Although you’re not in the game, doesn’t mean you’re out of the game.

Remember this: Think of the College you want to attend. Whoever that coach is of that team, picture them looking at you. Do you want them to see you pouting? Of course you don’t! So, while on the bench….. Be coach able….Encourage those still in the game….Notice the opportunity to rest your body….Continue to stay confident in your ability….Honor the fact there is room for growth….

Weekend filled with Words

Here are some of the views at The University of Illinois.  I must say my daughter and I had plenty of words….

We left home at 4:30 am in the morning.  Her first game was at 8am and this girl was so excited when she first saw the school.  Hence the photo she almost jumped out the car while it was moving.  This is the U of I’s rec center.  It’s called the ARC

This statue behind her is a man playing football. Sorry I didn’t get his name. I told her this pic was for my dad. He played football in High School.

Here is the outdoor swimming pool. They had an indoor pool too. State of the art!!!!!

It wouldn’t be me if, I didn’t take pics of the landscape.

This is one of the many gyms. My daughter said it was around 7 of them. Every gym had 2 or 3 courts. There were 2 and 3 games being played at the same time.

Here’s my baby girl in action. She’s the second from the left in orange.

We had a great time. This weekend she’s off again. This is really preparing us for when she leaves for college. Wow! Time flies. Are you the mom of an athlete? If so, I know how busy you are at getting them to where the need to go.

University of Illinois…Is an option

I’m spending this weekend with my daughter at the University of Illinois. This place is Magnificent! It’s 2hrs from our home, awesome facility and did I say it was 2hrs from home?

I feel like a teen myself. I didn’t go to college so this is all new for me. With the exception of the low budget MOTEL which has me feeling like something is crawling on me. The smell of cigarette smoke and mold is not a great combo for my Allergies and Asthma. I’m totally aware this month! Otherwise I’m having a ball!

Stay tuned.

Congrats Ladies!!!!  My eldest daughter is getting ready to go down state with her High School Varsity team.  My daughter is a Sophomore, so, this past season she played with the Sophomore team.  When her season was almost up, she was invited by the Varsity coach to play with the Varsity team for the rest of their season.

So now, we’re here.  They have made it to the final FOUR!  She’s so excited & I’m excited for the girls.

This isn’t the first time she’s had the privilege to play in the finals.  Her 8th grade girls team also made it to the final FOUR then to the final TWO.  Sadly they lost( cheating refs). They were devastated! They couldn’t understand how adults could be so unfair.

My big girl is packed and ready to roll.

Stay tuned for the update on their stats.

Ladies! SHOW EM WHAT YA WORKING with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Proud Mama
