Motivational Mama With No Remote

Today was my daughter last AAU Basketball tournament.  The event was 30 miles or more from our house & we were going to be there from 7:30 am until 7pm.  A very long day!  But….WAIT…. That’s not too bad if your just traveling with your teen.  Right?  We were traveling with the entire crew; my husband, daughter 1, son, daughter 2 & myself.  So can you imagine what our day was going to be like? LONG!

So, being the brilliant Mama that I am.  I Began to create a plan.  A plan that made sure that we didn’t lack any essentials while we were away from our abode.  Here’s what I packed:

Clothes- an extra change of clothes for almost everybody.  You never know what might happen!

Cooler-Gatorade, water, juice & ice.

Smaller Cooler bag- sandwiches & chicken. Yep! Chicken!  If you want to know if chicken is good? Eat it cold!  If it’s good when it’s cold, that’s some good chicken!

Blankets- (3) Barney Blanket, Large blanket & a bedspread.  We were going to be out there all day.  Baby girl needs a nap! By all means I wasn’t going to let a Basketball game get in the way.

Snacks- Snacks Snacks & more snacks

Nebulizer machine- Never leave home without it!

Medication- Inhalers

Laptop- 2 Hubby had his & I had mine.  I didn’t use mine though but again!  Never leave home without it!

Dora- Dora shoes, Dora Doll, Dora DVD & Dora purse.  Like I said! Never leave home without it.

Pot! Potty! Poo Poo AKA Baby toilet! Yes I did!  My daughter is like me, she has a hard time using the public restroom.  So, being the genius that I am…put it in the back of the truck and Voila!  She had her own restroom.

Let me think am I forgetting anything……………………………………….

You can imagine the looks, stares, funny comments & laughs I was getting from my family.  But…. Once we got there & they asked for this or that.  They said, “Oh mom I’m so happy you brought this or that!’  My son said that I was smart.  hehehehe

The only thing I wish I could have had….was that freaking Mama Remote to shut em up on the ride there & back.

Have you taken a road trip that was close to home & went overboard with packing but you wouldn’t have done it any other way?

This is what it’s going to look like….

This is what it’s going to look like for the next few days. I’ll be viewing bumpers. It’s all Basketball related.

I finally found the theme that I’m going to stick with. WordPress has an outstanding blog platform. However, there are many themes, either they’re not updated or after I’ve activated them, they look nothing like the screen shot view.

This one is the Arras and I’m still working on the featured slide show and the thumbnails. That will have to wait until this coming weekend.

Playing with codes & maintaining sites are all new to me. As strange as it may be, I’m enjoying it! I was looking at my archive and noticed that my one year blog Anniversary is coming up in August. WooHoo! Now my brain is going with ideas on how to celebrate.

In the midst of me rolling this week, I’m rolling through your blogs. What’s on your agenda for the upcoming week? I’d love to hear about it!

My daughter & Rajon Rondo

My daughter has the arrow pointing at her head.

My daughter returned back from her Kentucky trip.  She met Rajon Rondo while she was there.  He was there for his Basketball camp that was starting today.  She’s a Celtics fan and of course  Basketball.

She said, “He’s not that tall.”  So she got kicks out of seeing him eye to eye.  My daughter is about 6’2 and she just made 16 on Monday.  I think her Basketball height is 6’3 seeing as though they lie about their height.

On the Bench

I like many other Mom’s, have children actively involved in sports. My daughter plays, Volley Ball, Track & her love, Basket Ball. “What’s the difference between a Hooper Mama & a Pit Bull? This Mama is not a !@?#!” I’m a Mom that loves my children and my first priority is my family. Here, I will add inspirations as I’m lead to share them here. We teach our children to put God first and His Favour will follow.

On the Bench

Whenever my daughter has to sit on the bench, there are times when I’d like to scream! At her that is. There’s nothing like seeing your child sitting on the bench and he/she looks like their in time-out. Pouting, mad and angry at the fact that the coach has sat them down. On the other hand being a parent, my husband I can’t stress enough, the importance of having a right spirit, Sitting on the Bench.

Although you’re not in the game, doesn’t mean you’re out of the game.

Remember this: Think of the College you want to attend. Whoever that coach is of that team, picture them looking at you. Do you want them to see you pouting? Of course you don’t! So, while on the bench….. Be coach able….Encourage those still in the game….Notice the opportunity to rest your body….Continue to stay confident in your ability….Honor the fact there is room for growth….
