Blogher Mode, Purse Remorse and a Tourist In My Own City

image

I’m in straight Blogher mode. Between fitting in my clients, getting last minute things and making sure the house is in order, Blogher here I come!

We went shopping last week and I was looking for a Vera Bradley bag to carry my ‘easy to get to’ essentials.  Then I remembered my Franklin Covey bag that I’ve barely used.  It has more than enough pockets and compartments to carry an entire office if I wish.  I’ll look for a Vera Bradley when I’m not feeling pressed and I find the print that I think I can’t live without.

I have a purse in my closet now (many purses) that I may have carried twice. Still sitting in the dust bag and I don’t carry it because I made the wrong choice of color and design.

Nevertheless, I’m so excited about Blogher. I started getting my bags packed and mapping out all the details.  Speaking of mapping out all the details…. I’ve lived in Chicago all my life and when it comes to downtown, I feel like a tourist in my own city.  Of course we haven’t lived in the city for nearly 10 years, but I’m praying I don’t get lost

“Changing The Face of Fast Food”

I’m sure many of you know by now that I enjoy food. I enjoy quality, flavor and the creativity that’s poured into a dish. Yesterday I attended Bloggerbites at Flavor 180 hosted by a fellow Chicago Blogger, Kris Cain. The Bloggerbites event is a way for Flavor 180 to allow Bloggers to get together, taste selected dishes on their menu and spread the word throughout the social media platforms that we use.

The first item on the menu I tried was their salmon burgers. We all know that I’m a salmon fan, but I’ve never been to a fast food restaurant that had salmon on their menu. Delish!!!!!

I didn’t realize that I didn’t eat my salad first until I had eaten it last. LOL. The next thing I dug into was the Cajun Tilapia. Don’t hurt’em FLAVOR!!!!! DON’T HURT’EM!!!!! Flavored just right and moist.

Then there were the meatballs. 🙂

Finally, the salad! LOL I always dig into my salad first, but I think the food spread on the table distracted me 😉

Okay, one of the Bloggers came with her husband and John (owner) was telling him about one of the items on the menu that we weren’t tasting that day.

After hearing the description of the tacos, he placed an order for some.  let’s just say not only will the men in you life enjoy these tacos, but we had to have a moment of silence.  Let’s just say there was some hugging and it will make your man need a moment. LOL

I had a wonderful time and as you can see I really enjoyed the food.  Flavor180 is located 1511 S. State Street and be sure to check out their menu online.

Disclosure: The opinions in this post were my own and I was not asked to write this post.  However, I’m always willing to share great places to eat and enjoy yourself.
