December Netflix StreamTeam Binge

I’m writing this post because I am a Netflix StreamTeam member. Opinions are my very own.

The month of December, I Netflix Binged. Indulged in some good ole movies.

Yes I did.

Not only did I binge, but my kids have been binging too. My oldest daughter is home and my youngest has hijacked the television and has made them watch every flashback movie under the sun. My youngest has paid my oldest back for every time I had to hear Shark Boy and Lava girl, Spy Kids and every other movie her and my son watched over a million times.

One thing I love about the movies my two oldest kids grew up on, is that they have been given new life with my youngest. These old movies appear as though they’ve just hit the box office in the eyes of my youngest. So, this holiday break has been filled with some oldies, but goodies in my house.

Now, I think these colder months allow me to enjoy a bit more television entertainment because I’m not outside as much. No more garden duties and some days it’s just toooo darn cold to go outside! The last movie I watched in December was, Raising Izzie. I almost… almost went into a really, really ugly cry, but I grabbed some tissue.

I’d consider Raising Izzie a sorta, kinda family movie. That’s depending on the sensitivity of the children in your family. My two oldest would handle this fine, but my youngest I was a bit concerned. She’s going through that emotional phase now, so maybe she’ll have to see this at a later date. Raising Izzie is a story of the hope of adoption after much tragedy in the life of two young girls. Not only was the adoption of these girls a blessing for them, but was also hope to a couple that weren’t able to have children.

The month of December was definitely not only a month of binging on food, but enjoying some great movies too. What’s your Netflix pick of the month?

November Netflix Pick of the Month- My Dad’s a Soccer Mom #NetflixStreamTeam

I’m a member of the Netflix StreamTeam and opinions are my very own.

Hope everyone has recuperated from Thanksgiving dinner. I’m in the process of going through sweet potato pie withdrawal. Just one mo pie. One more.

Nope nine pies weren’t enough.

Anyhow, we had a wonderful time chilling with the family and watching movies. One of our faves was, ” My Dad’s A Soccer Mom.” I’ll admit I had my reservations in the beginning. Starting with the title. Now why does dad have to be a soccer mom? Why can’t he be a soccer dad? Huh? That’s exactly what he was, a soccer dad.

This movie was picked by my daughter Jala. She’s a fan of Skai Jackson and when she saw that she was in the movie, that was her pick. We actually watched the movie twice. Once with my daughter and the second time with the entire family.

Marion Casey (Lester Speight) plays  Lacy’s (Skai Jackson)dad and has recently lost his football contract. Holly Casey, is the wife of Marion and mother of Lacy and after her husband loses his contract she decides to put more time in her Interior Design business that she co owns with her sister.

In the meantime Marion gets a chance to spend more time with his daughter, Lacy and helps her find her passion of soccer.  This was an awesome movie and showed the growth of a relationship between a father a daughter.  Great movie to see over the holiday or the weekend with the family.

God’s Not Dead #netflixstreamteam

I’m a member of the Netflix Stream Team and the views are completely my very own.

This movie was awesome! I was extremely shocked at how awesome this movie was. Sad to say that oftentimes Christian movies can be a bit predectable. When I was preparing to watch the movie I asked my 14 year old son did he want to watch it with me. He said, “no” and shrugged me off. Well, as I began to watch the movie, he sat down and got comfortable. Fifteen minutes later…. He was still there.

God’s Not Dead is a movie about a college student, Josh Wheaton whose college professor who demands the entire class to declare that God is dead. When Josh refuses his professor’s demand he challenges him to a debate. Josh must prove to his professor and class that God is alive or his class grade is dead and so is his future.

Those that are close to Josh don’t think he should debate the argument. However, Josh is convicted and can’t see himself denouncing God.

This is a must see movie with the family. A must! My son even gave the movie 5 stars. Shocking review for someone that shrugged me off, right? LOL

If you’ve already seen God’s Not Dead, how did you like the movie and what would you have done if you were in Josh’s shoes?
