Hemp Happy Family

While shopping at Costco the other day, I stopped to taste some Hemp seeds they had out for tasting.  I was extremely surprised by the taste.  They have a nutty texture and puts me in the mind of sunflower seeds.  They also have another taste that I still haven’t been able to pinpoint.

After researching online I found out that they are a Super Food and very healthful to many health problems such as: high blood pressure, diabetes & more.  With a suggested intake of 4 tablespoons a day, I went for it.

In Oatmeal for Breakfast

In Cereal for Breakfast

In Salad For Hubby’s Lunch

In mostly all of the dishes and drinks that I’ve added the Hemp Seeds to you can either barley taste them or they add a nutty texture.  Hopefully this bag will last us until my next Costco visit.  However, I will be going this week to pick up a bag for my grandmother and if I think they won’t last, I need to pick us up another bag too.

So, have you tried Hemp Seeds? If so, have you noticed any differences in you health?

The real reason I love growing Swiss Chard

Amazingly Beautiful

Ever since we planted our first batch of Swiss Chard a few years ago, I’ve insisted on planting it every year. This morning when I went to harvest some Swiss Chard, the amazingly beautiful leaves astounded me with their beauty. That’s when I realized the real reason I enjoy growing Swiss Chard.

It’s in the Detail

The detail is scrumptious! We had some for dinner last night. Made some for my husband’s salad for lunch and this week I’ll be making lasagna with it as an ingredient.

New York likes it too

Oh yeah, New York even had some for dinner last night. It wasn’t the first thing he ate on his plate, but he did eventually eat it. I’ve been wanting to add some Swiss Chard around the patio where we’re growing our herbs. Doesn’t look like that will happen this year, but next year it will be added for sure. Along with some Kale. What leafy vegetable do you think has the most beautiful color and texture?

Working out my Gangsta confessions ;)

Workout Shout Out

I’m sure you’re seeing workout gear, exercise equipment and all things dealing with a healthier lifestyle this time of year. I’m back on my exercise game and not only am I feeling good, but I’m excited about my workout goals that I’ve set for myself.

I’m up EARLY in the morning taking the time I deserve to have to myself. Seems as though I’m seeing things differently.  Whenever I’ve worked out before, I saw it as punishment and torture.  Now, I see it as benefitting my health and mental state of mind.  Hopefully looking at it as something I deserve will help me endure the sweat and pain.

I have a confession to confess. Who knows I may not be the only one with this secret. I love working out to Gangsta Rap………………………………………

Those last few minutes on the Elliptical machine, I’m always tempted to quit. But….If I’m listening to Jay Z, Ludacris or Young Jeezy!!!! I gets it in!!!! Those last few minutes and the entire workout is so much easier and enjoyable 🙂  Maybe I have a 19 year old trapped inside of me?

Please share a confession with me after I just bared my soul. LOL
