My Stream Team Welcome Kit Arrived

I’m apart of the Stream Team and all opinions are my own.

Nope, I wasn’t looking out the window waiting for the delivery man : / .   I’m excited to be apart of the Netflix Stream Team and yesterday my kit arrived at my door.

When it comes to hooking up anything in our house I play like a damsel in distress.  Heck! I can’t do every darn thing!  Have to leave something for the mister.

Honestly, whenever there’s anything that requires hooking up or tech devices my husband takes over. He wants to be the first with the 411. Actually I think it has a lot to do with him having the latest news in the shop and topic discussions for his clients.  Guess he wants the ups on the barbershop talk.

Any who, my kit included a Roku 3 and all the necessities for easy hookup.

My husband had it hooked up in no time.  After hooking it up there were some codes and instructions we were prompted to do.  Once that was all taken care of we were good to go.

Like I said my husband took over by watching, 24 and I feel asleep 🙁

Well, today I had a blast while the Roku hog was away by learning more about the device.  Watched some Extreme Couponing on Netflix.  Set up my YouTube account and watched some videos.  I’m gonna love that!! Love seeing YouTube videos on a larger screen.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Twitter & Facebook as I share while I learn all it has to offer.

Do you have a Netflix subscription? If so, how do you stream your Netflix?

The Cooking Channel: Salmon Tacos w/MexAmerica Tortillas(Product Review)

A couple weeks ago I received some taco shells from MexAmerica Foods
to review.  I was sent 1 pack of 15 oz Flour Tortillas, 16 oz 100 % Whole Wheat With Honey Tortillas & 10 oz corn Tortillas.

MexAmerica Tortillas1

Within the past couple weeks we’ve had our regular turkey tacos & veggie wraps.  I used the leftovers for my husband’s lunch using the 16 oz Whole Wheat With Honey Tortillas and he said the guys at work were eyeing his food.  The Whole Wheat With Honey Tortilla shells are very large and a great proportion for a man’s meal.

Since we eat tacos often in my house I also wanted to do something a bit different.  I decided on Salmon tacos using the 15 oz. flour shells.

Here’s a quick tip and as brilliant as I am I can’t take any credit.  My Mom showed me this little trick when she was over one day and I’ve been cooking my shells like this ever since.

Tip: Put taco shells directly on the gas stove burner on a medium fire, cook for approximately 15 seconds and flip over. Continue flipping if necessary to get the desired look of your shells.

First, season your salmon with the seasonings you prefer, lightly oil skillet with olive oil and cook.

After salmon is done cut salmon into small pieces and begin to prepare your taco.

If you choose to use the avocado cut it up as well.

Layer salmon, romaine lettuce, shredded cheese, avocado and Greek yogurt.  If you’re a hot sauce person make sure you add that too.  The MexAmerica Tortilla shells were delicious!  My family and I enjoyed trying them out.

What’s your favorite type of taco?

Andys Fish Fry Seasoning

Just wanted to share with you one of our family “must have” in the kitchen cabinet. Andy’s Fish seasoning is the “BOMB!” I started using this seasoning 2 years ago while on vacation. Where we went we had to bring our own grocery. With a family of 5, it helps us cut down on the costs. Also we had to make sure we weren’t bringing a whole lot of grocery. Otherwise I would have to bring: cornmeal, flour & seasonings along. So, not only does the Andy’s seasoning help us cut down on cost it’s also Convenient. With a capital “C”.

Any-who, we’ve been fans every since. This is how I use it:
I take a Ziploc bag. Pour in the seasoning then place my fish in the bag, zip it up and shake.
Place my battered fish in very hot cooking oil & fry.

TIP: How do you know when fish is completely done? When it floats.

When fish is done. Take it out hot oil and place on a paper towel so that the oil will drain.

TIP: What is the best oil to use? Oil that has been used at least once. (drain oil after first use and use at least 1 more time. It helps fish to fry really well.)

If you too are a fish lover next time you’re in the grocery store pick up a pack.  You will not be disappointed.  When I checked out the website, I found out that they also have it for chicken and seafood.  That’ll be our next purchase.  We get ours from WalMart (cost approx: $2.50 sorry threw away the receipt) and they only carry the fish seasoning.  I was using this seasoning on my fish, shrimp, chicken & fried green tomatoes.  One bag was able to make my family of 5 both of these meals.

Disclosure:  This is the view of my family.  We were not paid by Andy’s nor were we given the product to test.  This is one of our very own favorites.
