Things My Husband Say All The Time

We all have strange, weird, unusual, only we can say it, sayings.  Like when I was younger my mother would always say,

We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Which meant, I don’t feel like talking about that now and when we’re about to cross that bridge, I’m going to say it again.

Well, there’s a whole bunch of sayings my husband says and I don’t think he’ll ever stop saying them.  Ever!  He’s guaranteed to say one of these sayings per day if not, all in a day.

Here we go

Twos and fews

Which means this or that.

Peace and Hair grease

If you don’t take nothing else, take it easy.

Take your time going, but hurry back.

This one I despise because he says it whenever I leave the house.

Ain’t nothing slick to a can of oil.

It’s like pissing in the wind, it’s all on you.

Yes, he says that.

Chilling like a villain trying to touch the ceiling.

A whole bunch of nothing.

in response to someone asking what’s going on.

The one that tops everyone of these is said on a daily basis….

Sounds like a plan.

Does you spouse have any favorite sayings?

Marriage:10 ways to say, “I told you so.” without saying, “I told you so!”

The pleasures of marriage

There are a multitude of pleasures in a marriage union.  However, a greater pleasure in saying, “I told you so.”  When our spouse may not agree with what we believe regarding certain situations.  All the same, we know that saying, “I told you so.”  to our spouse is like saying, “Yo Mama!” to your enemy.  What if, we could say, “I told you so” without actually saying “IT”?

The not so I told you so

Here goes 10 ways to say, “I told you so!” without saying, “I told you so.”

  1. Remember what I said?
  2. I said this was going to happen.
  3. That’s why I didn’t think that was a good idea.
  4. You think I say stuff to be a nag.
  5. Do you recall us having this conversation?
  6. Well, I told you what I would have done.
  7. That all could have been avoided….
  8. *blank stare*
  9. I don’t even…. want to talk about it.
  10. You must have been getting advice from the guys/ladies in the Barbershop/Salon.

The pleasures of friendship

If my husband or I had a dime for every time we’d like to say those words?  We’d probably be well off by now.  I’ve learned through my 14 years of marriage and so has he that we can actually take one another’s advice and trust that we are looking out for one another’s best interest.  One of the pleasures of marriage, as we grow together… Is that we form a friendship.  A friendship that I can be brutally honest with my husband and he can be brutally honest with me about those situations and circumstances.  Are we perfect? No!  Do we get it right every time? Absolutely not! Of course timing can also play a crucial part in this as well.  Oftentimes, unless my husband hits me in my gut with truth, I tend to take his advice for granted.  I’m sure you can relate.

So, what’s your favorite “I told you so,” without saying, “I told you so.”

Disclosure: No marriages were harmed in the making of this post.

The Restoration of Father’s Day

The lack of a father’s love can resign-ate to the deterioration of a family. It will send sound waves into the community causing it to pierce the ears of a nation.

Mother’s have taken the burden of trying to fill this roll but this is a roll that must be filled by a Father. I thank my Mom for being there to clothe & feed me when my father wasn’t, but the longing for his love left me hungry. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled Matt. 5:6.

Today, I can say my relationship with my Father is restored, not many can say that. On this day I wish my Dad a Happy Father’s Day. I give God the Glory because it was only by His Grace and Mercy that we were not consumed.
