JPIII Ready for some football!

James deciding to play football this year.  He played flag football when he was around 8 or 9.  The very beginning of the season he injured his knee during practice.  After seeing an orthopedic,  therapy and some rehabilitative hardware (knee brace) he’s playing again.

They’ve had a phenomenal season.  So far they’re #1 in the State.

And if they win the next two games, these boys will be going to Florida to play ball.

Tonight was another night of practice and it was so COLD!

Thankfully I was able to sit in the car with Jala and stay warm.

Next game is Sunday and I hope these fellas are ready for some football.

Until then, this kid will get his sleep.

“I need a bigger pencil”

I need a bigger pencil

I need a bigger pencil

Yesterday a few minutes into doing homework. My son says, “I need a bigger pencil”. He came in the kitchen and opened his hand. There it was. You would think this pencil has been around some years? Nope! What kind of life did it live? What color was he? I do remember him being a camouflaged print. Less than a month ago he was tall, dark & handsome. Now he’s a war victim.

So, he goes into my area & finds a pencil twice its size & two sided. Yep. Two sided. He was sharpened at both ends. You know what else he found? This small plastic tube the size of the it ty bit ty pencil that housed my new Cricut needle. He put the it ty bit ty pencil in it to keep up with it, he calls it “The World’s Smallest Pencil”. If that little sucka could fit in our pencil sharpener, you better believe he would sharpen it some more. Making it “The World’s Disappearing Pencil”.

I’m sure you’re wondering how can I be a mom and not have the proper school supply for my children? Its one of those things………The more you buy, the more they CONSUME! Like pencil, paper towels, FOOD, pop, body wash, dish detergent and numerous other things. When this is in stock at my house, under lock and key it should be! Otherwise he’ll come to me daily saying, “I need a bigger pencil”.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY SON? BUT….wait…

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY SON?  BUT…wait…DON’T BRING him back!

I know it’s only 3 weeks into the new school year!

I know things can turn for the worst at anytime!

That’s why I’m demanding answers NOW! However, I have no desire for this change to come to an end.

The week before school my son said he couldn’t wait for it to start.  I’m thinking please let this last until the end of this school year.  Well, school started 3 week ago and things have changed around here.  He’s been calmer, comes right in does his work, get his clothes ready, empty the garbage without much grumble & has seem to mature a bit lot.  While taking out the garbage yeaterday, the bag bust & some garbage spilled on the floor.  When he came back in…he stepped over it & went to get the broom (she faints).  I have 2 words for these body snatchers!!!!!!THANK YOU!!!!!!! LOL  You’re probably thinking…..Isn’t that what a normal 9yr old does?!  Um…Not my 9yr old!  Let me give you a little history on my son.

7 months old: He took his first steps (I’m thinking…he’s a genious) Now this was truly a miracle considering the size of the head he had to balance!

Age 4/5: He took speech lessons for an entire year due to a speech impediment.  ( If he tells that story…He was the one that taught the class while the teacher sipped on a Caffe’ Misto & read the Dear Mama column in the Chicago Sun-times.)

Age 6: He began Kindergarteen.  The late start was because his birthday was in December.  I know! STUPID!

First Grade: He was placed in the Gifted program (Also invited to a ceremony due to having good ISAT scores)

First Grade: He was taken out of Gifted program (In other words, they took their gift back)

Second Grade: Things got worst ( The fall down this hill wasn’t smooth)

Third Grade: He had to attend summer school in order to get promoted to 4th grade)

Summer School: He came home the last day of summer school with multiple awards. Best this! Highest that! (WTFlashback)I won’t repeat the comment my daughter made.

Which brings us to the present.  Last week he came home with another letter inviting us to attend the ceremony for good ISAT scores( from his 3rd grade test??????!  WTFLASHBACK!!!!!Dude!  You had to go to summer school to pass????? But you scored high on your test?????!!!!!

I oughta!!!!!

Give him a big {hug}…Because that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.  Today, we signed him up for Flag Football!  WooHoo! Another BALLER in the HOUSE!!!

I actually think he had a brain spurt over night.  He’s already had his growth spurts(to grow into his head) but his brain & maturity had to catch up with his body.  So, today I’m thankful for my son getting back on the right track!

Disclosure: I was given permission to write this post from my son. See Mama’s Blog Release Form
