May Netflix StreamTeam Movie Picks – Rev Run’s Sunday Supper

In this post I’ll share with you what I enjoyed on Netflix this month. I’m a member of the Netflix Stream Team and the opinions are my very own.

Last month we enjoyed Rev Run’s Renovation and that led us to watch Rev Run’s Supper. Of course this was Jala’s suggestion and with Rev Run’s Shows being clean content it was safe for us to watch together.

Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect with this show. I wasn’t sure if Run and Justine were going to cook all the meals or have a professional cook come to their home and cook. I just wasn’t sure. Well, I think they added a great dynamic to the show by inviting family and friends over to cook dinner. There aren’t many episodes in this series, but enough to grab some of your favorite ice cream, a blanket and chill on a Friday or Saturday night.

Being one that loves to cook, sometimes I find myself in a cooking funk. Life gets the best of me and my creativity is the first to go. Rev Run’s Sunday Supper motivated me and gave me some inspiration to come up out of my cooking funk. I also, purchased a shoulder roast that they cooked on the show and I’m excited to try and add my spin on it.

What have you watched on Netflix this past month? With the weather getting warmer do you find it harder to wind down and catch a movie at home? Since we spend so much time in the garden this time of year we have to make sure we have a family movie night or a date night to wind down a bit.

Unlikely Animal Friends and Their Symbiotic Relationships: Netflix StreamTeam

I’m a member of the Netflix Stream Team and opinions are my very own.

Unlikely Animal Friends

My youngest daughter Jala has an extreme love for animals. Never thought the word extreme could possibly be an understatement, but when it comes to Jala and animals, she loves them. She thinks ugly animals are cute. Like a possum. UGH Recently, I’d taken a liking to some stray cats frequenting our yard. So, I was feeding them on a daily basis and it gave me such pleasure. However, I thought it was strange that the cats only came at night to eat. I’d seen them a couple times during the day, but it wasn’t often.

One night I hear my son screaming. He runs down stares looking as if he had seen a ghost and could barely tell me what he saw. I followed him upstairs and there you have it. Looking out the back door my daughter Jala saying, “He’s so adorable.  Can we keep him?” The reason the cat food was mostly being eaten at night… the possum was the one coming by to eat the food. That put an end to me feeding stray cats, but if Jala could have her way, we’d still be feeding the possum.

With that being said, our Netflix Pick of the Month of March *drum roll* Unlikely Animal Friends. There’s no surprise that Jala would pick this series. For one she loves watching series type shows and two she’s the one that taught me about symbiotic relationships.

With a world indulging in such evil and hatred, Unlikely Animal Friends is just what’s needed.  You get to see the benefits of diverse relationships with animals as well as, seeing the significance and importance of those relationships.  Many of the episodes are great to discuss with our children on how there are beneficial and non-beneficial relationships in our lives and helping them know the difference.

We just finished up one week of Spring Break here and if your children haven’t had their Spring Break yet, on a chill day, check out Unlikely Animal Friends.  You won’t be disappointed.  Well, while I was browsing through Netflix I noticed that Parenthood is on there.  Loved that show and now I can binge.

Fuller House on Netflix – Stream Team

I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team. Opinions are my very own.

Don’t you just love reminiscing on the television shows you watched as a child? I definitely do, and I love when Netflix brings back the flash of the past.

Fuller House aired on Netflix this Friday. I cuddled up with my little New York and let the episodes roll.

Now, the first 5 minutes I spotted Pyrex and before the show was over I spotted three different Pyrex bowls. Alright, alright, I’ll stay focused.

fuller house

If you were around in the old days… 1987ish. You’d remember the television show Full House. Danny Tanner, his brother in law and his friend helps Danny raise his three daughter’s after his wife died in a car accident.

The show has returned and now everyone is grown up and the second generation has all moved back into the Tanner house. Including DJ’s friend and her daughter. Fuller House is a funny show and I enjoyed the episodes I’ve watched so far. I was glad that I sat down to watch them first before watching them with my youngest daughter because there was alot of inappropriate content for kids. I’d definitely advise parents to watch it alone first so that they can make the proper judgement call before watching it with any of your young children.

Although I was disappointed that Fuller House wasn’t a family show, I was able to enjoy plenty  laughs with the exception of the sexual innuendos and some other content I believe, if left out, the show would have received 5 stars from me. My personal opinion is… If, a television show has children under age, there shouldn’t be any sexual content included at all.  So, have you checked out Fuller House yet on Netflix and if so, how do you compare it from the original shows?

January’s Netflix #StreamTeam Picks – October Baby

I’m writing this post because I’m a member of the Netflix StreamTeam however, the opinions are my very own.

What I watched

This month started off with me watching the movie, October Baby. Years ago I read a book which was similar to this very topic, abortion. Based on your views on the topic of abortion, you may be swayed one way or the other.  This month was also the 43rd Anniversary of Roe vs Wade so, I also thought it was appropriate for the month.

In October Baby a young lady, Hannah sets out to find her biological parents and discovers something that would totally shock you. As I said depending on your views on the topic will also be a deciding factor on if tissue will be needed. No matter what our beliefs are on the subject of abortion what we can all take away from this is how much we can find out about ourselves by being willing to take a journey in our past to benefit our future.

What Jala Watched

My youngest daughter Loves NETFLIX!!!! One of the reasons I enjoy it and feel a bit safe as a parent,  is because of the lack of inappropriate commercials. This month she indulged in the episodes of Alpha and Omega and has said she’s moved on to something else, but she can’t remember what that something else is…stay tuned.

Watching

Hubby and I just began the series, Secrets of the Bible.  The first episode was on finding the Ark of The Covenant.  With some things shared on the Ark, I’ve had to revisit the scripture, do an in depth study and I’m going to re-watch the episode again.  There was so much to digest in the research shared on finding the Ark  of the Covenant that I know reading the scriptures and watching again would help me gain more clarity. I can be a bit of a skeptic lol.

So, that’s just a little of what we’ve been watching this month on Netflix.  What have you been watching this month on Netflix?

Excited To Be A Part of #NetflixStreamTeam for Another Year

I’m a member of the #NetflixStreamTeam and all post concerning Netflix are my own.

If my memory serves me correctly, this is my third year working with the Netflix Stream Team. Before blogging with them we were already Netflix fans. When we don’t go out to rent movies for family night, we scroll through the Netflix Movies and flip a coin take our pick.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Our first year with the Netflix Stream Team we dropped our cable.  That was freeing!  However, the following year I got tricked into signing back up because of a deal.  Let’s just say deals don’t last long.  The truth be told we still only turn on the television to watch movies with the family, hubby watches the games or when I’m into watching  Chick Flicks when I’m up having my ‘ Me Time’.

Well, this year in response to agreeing on another fabulous year with Netflix we received…

A BIG BOX!!!!!

Netflix Stream Team

LOL We actually received…

A Sharp Roku TV to enjoy watching our Netflix Movies along with all the other amenities.   Hubby will be setting it up today so I can begin enjoying some movies with the family and with him on our movie night.  Oh, and I received strict orders to not open the box until he came home :/

If you’re looking for a way to give you and your family budget friendly entertainment check out Netflix and the Roku.  Keep a look out for more post on the movies we’re loving and watching.
